Rockford Fosgate M2-300X4 4-Channel Marine Amplifier

The Rockford Fosgate M2-300X4 is a four-channel, full-range marine amplifier designed to add dedicated power to speakers in boats and other exposed installations. Its 300-watt RMS total rating supports a variety of stereo speaker-system layouts. The compact chassis helps provide a practical amplification upgrade where space is limited.

This amplifier is suited to systems using four 4-ohm or 2-ohm speakers, or two bridged 4-ohm speaker loads. It delivers 50 watts RMS to each of four channels at 4 ohms, or 75 watts RMS per channel at 2 ohms. For a bridged configuration, it produces 150 watts RMS across each of two 4-ohm channels.

Its full-range Class D design covers a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response for use with marine coaxial speakers, component speakers, or other full-range drivers. Class D operation is designed for efficient power delivery and reduced demand on the electrical system. Adjustable front and rear high-pass or low-pass crossovers help tailor the signal for the speakers being used.

The M2-300X4 uses Rockford Fosgate C.L.E.A.N. input and output clip indicators to assist with gain setup. Its P.O.W.E.R. supply is designed to increase output as supply voltage increases. A 2/4-channel input switch and RCA pass-through outputs support flexible integration with both compact and expanded systems.

Element Ready construction addresses the environmental demands of marine and outdoor audio installations. The amplifier uses a conformal-coated circuit board, a UV-stable powder-coated cast-aluminum heatsink, and zinc-nickel-plated marine-grade brass terminals. It can serve as the main amplifier for four speakers or as part of a larger system with an additional subwoofer amplifier.

Design & Installation

The M2-300X4 has a UV-stable powder-coated cast-aluminum heatsink and convection cooling. Its circuit board is conformal coated, while its integrated connection terminals use zinc-nickel-plated marine-grade brass. Top-mounted controls provide access to setup adjustments after mounting.

Use 4 AWG power wiring and protect the power connection with a 60-amp fuse, which is not included. The amplifier accepts RCA low-level inputs or high-level inputs through its front and rear 4-pin Molex connections; high-level input supports Auto-Sense turn-on with a RAP bypass switch. Mount it securely in a location that allows ventilation, follow the owner's manual for wiring and impedance requirements, and use only 4-ohm loads when bridging channels.
