JBL JBLSTAGEGT50011AM Mono Class-D Subwoofer Amplifier $209.52
Bundle total: $721.54

The JBL Stage 1200D is a loaded dual 12-inch subwoofer enclosure for adding dedicated low-frequency output to a vehicle audio system. It combines two JBL Stage subwoofers in a factory-configured ported cabinet, eliminating the need to select and build a separate enclosure. It is intended for listeners who want a straightforward bass upgrade while retaining a compact enclosure profile for its class.

This enclosure is rated for 500 watts RMS and 1,000 watts peak power handling at a 2-ohm nominal impedance. Its ported, slot-vented design is engineered to improve efficiency and support strong bass output. The stated 34 Hz to 200 Hz frequency response allows it to cover deep bass while integrating with an appropriately configured full-range speaker system.

Two 12-inch JBL Stage drivers are preinstalled and wired as a single 2-ohm enclosure load. Each woofer uses a 2-inch voice coil, while the published system sensitivity is 94 dB at 2.83V/1m. This makes the Stage 1200D a suitable match for a mono amplifier designed to operate safely at 2 ohms.

The enclosure uses 5/8-inch MDF construction with a black carpet covering for a durable, vehicle-oriented finish. Its slot port and tapered-depth cabinet are designed to provide usable output without the bulk of many conventional dual-subwoofer boxes. The black finish also helps it blend into trunks, hatchbacks, and cargo areas.

The Stage 1200D is supplied as a complete loaded enclosure, so an external amplifier and installation wiring are still required. It can serve as the bass section of a new system or as an upgrade to a factory or aftermarket stereo when paired with the proper amplifier integration equipment. Use the amplifier's crossover controls and gain settings carefully to support clean integration with the vehicle's main speakers.

Key Features

  • Dual 12-Inch Drivers: Two preinstalled JBL Stage subwoofers provide a complete bass enclosure.
  • 500W RMS Handling: Supports substantial continuous power with a suitable external amplifier.
  • 2-Ohm Nominal Load: Configured for compatible mono amplifiers rated for 2-ohm operation.
  • Slot-Ported Cabinet: Ported enclosure design improves system efficiency and bass output.
  • 5/8-Inch MDF Construction: Rigid cabinet material supports dependable in-vehicle use.
  • 94 dB Sensitivity: Efficient design helps produce strong output from amplifier power.

Design & Installation

The Stage 1200D uses a rugged 5/8-inch MDF enclosure covered in black carpet. Its dual-driver, slot-ported layout is housed in a cabinet measuring 30-1/8 inches wide by 15 inches high, with 13-11/16-inch and 10-1/2-inch depth measurements. The enclosure contains two 12-inch drivers and is supplied ready for connection.

Install the enclosure securely in a suitable vehicle cargo area and connect its positive and negative terminals to a compatible external amplifier while observing polarity. JBL specifies at least 0.5 mm² (20 AWG) speaker wire for the connection to the enclosure. Choose an amplifier that is stable at the enclosure's 2-ohm nominal impedance, and use crossover and gain settings appropriate for the rest of the audio system.
