JBL Club A758 8-Channel Class D Car Amplifier

The JBL Club A758 is an eight-channel car amplifier designed to add dedicated power to a complete multi-speaker vehicle audio system. It can power front and rear speakers from one compact chassis, making it a practical choice for system upgrades where separate amplifiers would consume more space. Its Class D design is intended to provide substantial output while helping limit current draw and heat.

At 4 ohms, the Club A758 supplies 75 watts RMS to each of its eight channels; at 2 ohms, it is rated for 125 watts RMS per channel. It can also be bridged to provide 250 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms when fewer, higher-power channels are needed. This flexibility supports full-range speaker systems, mixed speaker-and-subwoofer layouts, and staged upgrades.

Speaker-level and low-level inputs allow the amplifier to work with either a factory radio or an aftermarket head unit. Balanced Differential Inputs are designed to reduce noise and distortion, including noise that can be introduced through vehicle wiring. Adjustable input sensitivity helps match the amplifier correctly to the source unit being used.

Each channel group includes selectable high-pass, low-pass, or full-range crossover operation. The variable crossover range lets an installer set suitable filtering for full-range speakers or subwoofers instead of relying solely on the source unit. Input-mode switching supports 2-channel, 4-channel, and 8-channel signal-routing setups.

Design & Installation

The Club A758 uses a low-profile, compact chassis intended for installations with restricted available space. Its control layout includes gain adjustment, crossover selection and frequency adjustment, input-level selection, input-mode selection, and DC/remote turn-on selection. An LED power/protect indicator communicates amplifier operating status.

Use 4 AWG power and ground wiring for installation, with properly fused power wiring and a secure chassis ground. The amplifier accepts speaker-level or preamp-level signal connections, so it can be integrated with factory or aftermarket audio systems. For bridged operation, use 4-ohm speaker loads and follow the amplifier's designated bridged terminal connections.
