Infinity MARINEM6008A 8-Channel Marine Amplifier

The Infinity MARINEM6008A is an eight-channel marine amplifier designed to add dedicated power to a boat audio system without requiring multiple amplifiers. It delivers 75 watts RMS to each of eight channels at 4 ohms, providing a practical solution for powering multiple full-range marine speakers. For systems that need greater output on fewer channels, it can also be bridged to produce 250 watts RMS across four channels at 4 ohms.

This amplifier is suited to boat owners building or upgrading multi-speaker systems, including installations using factory or aftermarket marine stereos. Speaker-level and low-level inputs provide flexibility when connecting different source units. Selectable 2-channel, 4-channel, and 8-channel input modes help distribute an available input signal through the amplifier's eight output channels.

The MARINEM6008A uses a Class D amplifier design and is rated for 75 watts RMS x 8 at 4 ohms or 125 watts RMS x 8 at 2 ohms, measured at 14.4V. Its published frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz, covering the full-range audio spectrum used by marine speakers. Balanced differential inputs are designed to help reduce noise and distortion, including susceptibility to induced engine noise.

Variable high-pass and low-pass crossover controls allow the amplifier to be matched to full-range speakers or bridged subwoofer channels. The crossover range is adjustable from 32 Hz to 320 Hz with a 12 dB-per-octave slope. Adjustable input sensitivity supports both line-level and high-level source signals for more controlled system setup.

The compact chassis measures 14-3/16 inches wide, 2-3/16 inches high, and 7-1/8 inches deep, making it easier to place in limited marine installation areas. Full-range preamp outputs support adding another amplifier without relying on signal splitters. On-board protection circuitry monitors short circuits, high temperature, overvoltage, and undervoltage conditions, with status indication provided by LEDs.

Design & Installation

The MARINEM6008A uses a low-profile chassis with a removable control-panel cover and grouped controls for channels 1/2, 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8. Infinity publishes the amplifier's compact dimensions and marine application, but does not publish a chassis-material specification or IP water-ingress rating. Its control layout includes input-level selection, DC or remote turn-on selection, input-mode selection, gain adjustment, crossover mode, and crossover frequency adjustment.

Make all wiring connections before mounting, disconnect the accessory battery's negative terminal before installation, and choose a location with adequate air circulation. Infinity recommends 4-gauge power wiring and advises against mounting the amplifier with its heat sink facing downward. The package includes high-level bare-wire-to-RCA adapters, fuses, mounting screws, Allen wrenches, a logo badge, stickers, and an owner's manual; power and ground wiring are not included.
