Infinity Kappa 603CF 6.5" Two-Way Component Speakers

The Infinity Kappa 603CF is a 6-1/2-inch two-way component speaker system designed for vehicle audio upgrades that need separate woofer and tweeter placement. Its component layout gives installers flexibility to position the tweeters higher or closer to the listening area than a conventional coaxial speaker. The set includes two woofers, two tweeters, and two external crossovers for a complete left-and-right installation.

This system is intended for listeners building a more detailed front-stage presentation while retaining a practical 6.5-inch woofer format. The 45 Hz to 40 kHz frequency-response specification covers low-midrange through extended high-frequency reproduction. With 93 dB sensitivity at 2.83 V and a 3-ohm nominal impedance, it is suited to systems using compatible aftermarket amplification or capable factory-power upgrades.

The Kappa 603CF uses Infinity Plus One glass-fiber woofer cones, which provide a larger radiating area than conventional cone designs of similar outside size. The woofer construction is designed around stiffness and low moving mass, supporting controlled midbass and midrange output. A 3/4-inch edge-driven silk-dome tweeter handles the upper frequencies through the included passive crossover network.

The external crossovers provide organized signal distribution between the woofers and tweeters, with a specified 4.6 kHz crossover point. A selectable 0 dB or -3 dB tweeter setting lets the installer reduce high-frequency output when tweeter placement makes the system sound too forward. The crossover housings include attached connection leads to simplify system wiring.

The Kappa 603CF also supports a future three-way upgrade path. Its crossovers include 2-way and 3-way selections for use with compatible optional Infinity Kappa 2-inch or 3-inch midrange speakers. This makes the system appropriate for an initial two-way installation that may later be expanded without replacing the primary woofer-and-tweeter set.

Design & Installation

The system combines glass-fiber woofer cones with edge-driven silk-dome tweeters and separate passive crossovers. Included tweeter hardware supports threaded flush mounting, surface mounting, and starfish-style mounting arrangements. Plastic multi-hole woofer adapter rings, foam gaskets, speed clips, screws, logo badges, and an Allen-head bit are also included.

Verify vehicle mounting clearance before installation, especially the 130 mm woofer cutout requirement and available mounting depth. Wire each woofer and tweeter through its supplied crossover rather than directly to the same full-range output. For a future three-way system, use the crossover's 3-way selection only with a compatible optional Kappa 2-inch or 3-inch midrange setup.
