A heavy-gauge, powder-coated stamped-steel basket forms the foundation for the motor and moving assembly. Through-the-frame venting with a mesh grille and a vented high-energy motor support airflow around the speaker structure. The rear motor cover helps protect the back of the subwoofer.

The ZG12D4 is suited to small sealed enclosures or medium-to-large vented enclosures, with ported designs identified as an ideal application. It has a 10-inch cutout requirement and 5.4-inch mounting depth, so enclosure dimensions should be checked before installation. Pair it with an amplifier selected and set appropriately for its 400-watt RMS rating and final wired impedance.

Its 2-inch voice coil uses a vented aluminum former, while through-frame venting and a vented motor assembly promote airflow. The motor uses 37-ounce magnets, and a rear motor cover protects the back of the assembly.

Mount the ZG12D4 in an enclosure with at least a 10-inch cutout and 5.4 inches of mounting depth. Use the spade-style terminals to connect both 4-ohm voice coils according to the amplifier's supported load: parallel wiring presents 2 ohms and series wiring presents 8 ohms. Select a properly configured external amplifier, secure the driver to a rigid enclosure, and ensure the enclosure type suits the intended installation.
