The Audison B-CON II is a compact high-resolution Bluetooth receiver designed to add wireless music streaming to a car audio system without replacing the factory radio. It receives audio from compatible phones and portable players, then feeds an aftermarket amplifier, DSP, or home audio component through RCA or optical S/PDIF connections. It is intended for systems where source quality and flexible integration matter.

Bluetooth 5.0 + EDR connectivity supports LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs for compatibility with Android and Apple devices. With an Android source that supports LDAC, the B-CON II can receive wireless audio up to 24-bit/96 kHz. Its Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification from the Japan Audio Society identifies it as a purpose-built high-resolution wireless receiver.

The B-CON II provides stereo RCA analog outputs rated at 2 Vrms, along with an optical digital output for connection to compatible processors and amplifiers. Its analog output section is specified for a 5 Hz to 48 kHz bandwidth, 0.003% THD at 1 kHz and 1 Vrms, and a 107 dB(A) signal-to-noise ratio. This gives installers a choice between direct analog connection and a digital signal path.

An optical S/PDIF input adds another source option for systems using an external digital player or interface. The input accepts PCM signals up to 24-bit/192 kHz and passes the signal directly to the optical output without D/A or A/D conversion when Bluetooth streaming is inactive. RCA output is disabled while the unit is operating in optical pass-through mode.

For compatible Audison AF bit amplifiers and bit One HD Virtuoso processors, the ADC port supports Absolute Volume operation and enhanced B-CON Go App control. The system can use the phone as a master-volume controller while retaining the digital stream's available resolution. The B-CON II can also coordinate source switching around factory hands-free calling when installed and configured with compatible equipment.

Key Features

  • Hi-Res Wireless Certification: Japan Audio Society certification supports high-resolution wireless audio use.
  • LDAC, AAC, and SBC: Supports common Bluetooth codecs for Android and Apple devices.
  • 24-Bit/96 kHz LDAC Streaming: Receives high-resolution LDAC audio from compatible Android sources.
  • RCA and Optical Outputs: Connects to analog inputs or compatible S/PDIF digital inputs.
  • Optical Pass-Through Input: Routes compatible digital PCM sources without conversion.
  • Absolute Volume Support: Works with select Audison DSP products through the ADC port.

Design & Installation

The B-CON II uses a compact 90 x 60.4 x 23 mm enclosure with integrated mounting tabs and status LEDs for Bluetooth pairing and stream-resolution indication. Its connection layout includes RCA outputs, optical S/PDIF input and output, an ADC port, and a supply/remote harness. The package includes mounting screws, an ADC-to-ADC cable, and a multipolar power/remote cable.

Install the B-CON II near the DSP, amplifier, or other destination component and use either its RCA outputs or Toslink optical output as appropriate for the system. In a vehicle, it can be powered through the supplied harness from a 5 to 24 VDC source; for home or bench use, it can be powered from 5V USB-C with a supply rated for at least 500 mA. Absolute Volume requires an ADC connection to a compatible Audison AF bit amplifier or bit One HD Virtuoso processor.
