Viper DS4 Digital Remote Start System with Bluetooth

The Viper DS4 is a digital remote-start platform designed to integrate remote-start capability, vehicle interface functions, and Bluetooth control in one compact system. It is intended for vehicles that can support a properly programmed and professionally installed remote-start solution. The included module, universal wiring harnesses, and mountable temperature sensor provide the core hardware for a vehicle-specific installation.

Built-in Bluetooth provides nearby smartphone control and supports wireless system programming through the Directed DirectLink workflow. Within Bluetooth range, compatible functions can include lock, unlock, remote start, trunk release, panic activation, and notifications, depending on the vehicle and system configuration. Directed lists Bluetooth control range at approximately 30 feet under typical conditions.

The DS4 is a low-current system suited to newer vehicles or applications that do not require the high-current relay hardware found in the DS4+ platform. Its embedded vehicle interface is designed to work with vehicle-specific firmware and installation documentation. Final features, wiring requirements, and supported commands depend on the exact vehicle, firmware, and installer configuration.

For everyday operation, the DS4 can retain use of a compatible factory key fob through 3X Lock Start, allowing remote start by pressing the OEM remote's lock button three times where supported. The included remote-mount temperature sensor is used to read cabin temperature and can report temperature to compatible two-way LED or LCD remote upgrades. No long-range RF remote is included with this base system.

The DS4 also provides a practical upgrade path for expanded control and security. Compatible D2D accessory ports support add-on components such as RF remote kits, SmartStart/GPS modules, and security hardware. A DS4 Security Upgrade Kit is required to add the listed siren, shock, and tilt security functions.

Design & Installation

The DS4 uses a black plastic module housing with integrated connection ports, onboard fuse protection, and dedicated harness connections for data, analog input/output, temperature sensing, and accessories. Its layout separates peripheral connections from vehicle-side connections to support organized routing. The base DS4 is the low-current version of the platform and does not include the DS4+ model's high-current relay fuse set.

Professional installation is recommended because the module must be flashed with vehicle-specific firmware and wired according to the applicable installation guide. The package includes universal harnesses, while a vehicle-specific T-harness may be available separately for supported applications.
