VOXX PRESTIGE ASCL7 CarLink Smartphone Vehicle Telematics Controller

The VOXX ASCL7 CarLink is a cellular telematics controller that lets a compatible vehicle remote-start or security system be managed through the CL7 smartphone app. It adds app-based access to everyday vehicle commands and status information rather than replacing the vehicle's existing remote-start hardware. It is designed for drivers who want connected control and vehicle-location features from a phone or tablet.

When paired with a compatible remote starter, the ASCL7 can provide remote engine start and stop, door lock and unlock, trunk or hatch release, and auxiliary control through the app. It can also report available vehicle information such as battery level, remote-starter status, door-lock status, and location. Actual commands and status functions depend on the connected remote-start or security system and installation configuration.

The ASCL7 uses LTE-M cellular connectivity and GPS networking to communicate with the vehicle beyond conventional key-fob range. It supports LTE-M networks from AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and US Cellular. The system is not an audio processor or amplifier, so it does not alter the sound character of an existing car audio system.

For security-oriented installations, the module can be configured to detect a positive horn or siren signal and send alarm notifications through the app. The app also supports push, SMS, and email notifications, plus command and event history retention. Premium Plus service adds tools intended for monitored shared vehicles, including geofences, speed alerts, curfew alerts, and trip information.

The ASCL7 fits into an upgrade path for compatible Flashlogic, Prestige, Pursuit, and other supported remote-start platforms with the appropriate telematics connection or installation method. It can also operate in standalone mode with power and ground for GPS-oriented features, without a remote starter. One year of service is included with ASCL7 hardware, with an optional Premium Plus plan available as an in-app upgrade.

Design & Installation

The ASCL7 is a compact telematics module with dedicated power, ground, data, and alarm-input connections. Blue and green status LEDs indicate cellular and GPS network status, respectively. Its installation guide specifies horizontal placement with the small access door facing upward and at least 3 inches of clearance from metal surfaces.

Professional installation is required. The module should be matched to a supported remote-start or security platform and configured in the CL7 app's installer wizard; certain systems require a specific protocol selection or interface programming. In standalone mode, power and ground can be used for GPS features only, while remote start and vehicle-command functions require compatible connected hardware.
