The sE Electronics V7 PTT is a handheld dynamic microphone designed primarily for live-sound talkback and general paging applications. Its momentary push-to-talk control helps keep communication channels muted when they are not actively in use. It is a practical choice for front-of-house engineers, monitor engineers, production crews, and technical staff.

Based on the V7 microphone platform, the V7 PTT uses a supercardioid pickup pattern to focus on the person speaking while reducing surrounding stage sound. Its dynamic DMC7 capsule is voiced for clear, open speech reproduction in demanding live environments. The directional pattern also supports higher usable gain before feedback when positioned and operated correctly.

A virtually noiseless, non-locking push-to-talk button is the defining feature of this model. Press and hold the button to send communication, then release it to mute the microphone. This momentary operation helps avoid unintentionally leaving a talkback microphone open in wedges, in-ear monitor mixes, or PA systems.

The microphone uses an aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet within its dynamic capsule. Its 40 Hz to 19 kHz frequency range and 2.0 mV/Pa sensitivity support intelligible voice capture through a suitable XLR microphone input or preamp. The 300-ohm electrical impedance is appropriate for standard professional balanced microphone connections.

For system integration, connect the V7 PTT to an XLR-equipped console, stagebox, paging system, or audio interface with a microphone preamp. No battery or phantom power is required for operation. Its included cradle, thread adapters, locking nuts, pouch, and spare windscreen help prepare it for fixed talkback positions or portable production use.

Design & Installation

A patented integrated shockmount helps reduce handling-related vibration reaching the capsule.

Use a standard balanced XLR microphone cable to connect the V7 PTT to a mixer, stagebox, paging input, or audio interface with a mic preamp. Mount it in the included mic cradle on a compatible stand or desk-mounted boom; the supplied adapters support 5/8-inch to 1/4-inch and 5/8-inch to 3/8-inch thread conversions. For talkback use, position the microphone close to the speaker and hold the button only while communication is needed.
