The sE Electronics V7 NICKEL is a wired dynamic handheld microphone designed for vocal performance, speech, broadcast, podcast, and instrument use. Its supercardioid pickup pattern focuses on the intended source while helping reduce surrounding stage sound. The brushed nickel finish gives this version a distinct appearance while retaining the core V7 microphone design.

This microphone is suited to singers, presenters, content creators, rehearsal spaces, and live-sound users who need an XLR vocal microphone. The dynamic capsule handles close vocal use without requiring delicate studio-mic handling. It can also be used on sources including electric guitar cabinets and drums where a directional dynamic microphone is appropriate.

The V7 uses a custom DMC7 dynamic capsule with an aluminum voice coil and neodymium magnet. Its specified 40 Hz to 19 kHz frequency range and 2.0 mV/Pa sensitivity support a clear, present vocal capture character. The supercardioid pattern is intended to provide useful isolation in louder performance environments.

An integrated patented shockmount decouples the capsule from mechanical vibration to reduce handling and rumble noise. The switchable internal windscreen helps manage wind noise and plosive sounds during close speech or singing. A gold-plated 3-pin male XLR connector provides the wired audio connection to compatible professional audio equipment.

The V7 NICKEL can be placed into a standard live vocal chain with an XLR cable, microphone stand or handheld use, mixer, audio interface, or PA system. A mic clip and thread adapter are included for stand mounting, while the carrying pouch supports transport and storage. Its supplied purple internal windscreen provides an alternate visual option for the grille area.

Design & Installation

The V7 NICKEL has an all-metal zinc-alloy body with a brushed nickel finish. Its beveled spring-steel grille is designed to resist corrosion and help prevent the microphone from rolling when placed on a flat surface. The microphone measures 54 mm in diameter, 184 mm long, and weighs 305 g.

Connect the microphone's 3-pin male XLR output to a compatible XLR microphone cable, then route the cable to a mixer, preamp, audio interface, recorder, or PA system. For stand use, install the included mic clip and thread adapter on a compatible microphone stand. Point the microphone toward the intended source and keep PA speakers positioned to reduce the likelihood of feedback.
