The Rockford Fosgate PMX-0 is an ultra-compact marine digital media receiver for systems where conventional radio chassis space is limited. It provides a central control point for streamed Bluetooth audio and wired auxiliary sources without requiring a Single DIN or Double DIN opening. Its compact format makes it well suited to boats, UTVs, golf carts, motorcycles, and other small recreational vehicles with a protected 12-volt electrical system.

This receiver is designed for use with external amplifiers rather than directly powering speakers. Dedicated front, rear, and subwoofer RCA preamp outputs let it feed a multi-amplifier audio system while retaining independent source control. The front-mounted subwoofer level control provides convenient bass adjustment from the listening position.

Bluetooth connectivity supports wireless audio streaming from compatible Apple and Android devices. A rear stereo RCA auxiliary input provides a wired option for portable media players and other analog audio sources. The rear USB connection supplies up to 1 amp for charging and is also used for firmware and Bluetooth software updates.

The PMX-0 is built for exposed marine and powersports environments, with an IPX6-rated front panel and a water-resistant rotary encoder. Its circuit board is conformally coated for added water resistance, while white LED button illumination supports operation in low-light conditions. Rockford Fosgate also validates the unit through ASTM B117 and D4329 environmental testing.

Installation is intended to be straightforward in compact custom panels and dashboards. The receiver mounts through a 2-inch round cutout using a compression U-clamp arrangement, minimizing the depth and panel area required. Pair it with marine-rated amplifiers, speakers, wiring, and appropriate circuit protection to build a compact external-amplifier audio system.

The compact face measures 4.1 inches wide by 2.6 inches high, with a total depth of 2.5 inches.

Mount the PMX-0 in a 2-inch round panel cutout and secure it with its compression U-clamp mounting system. Connect switched ignition, constant 12-volt power, ground, and the amplifier remote turn-on lead, then route the front, rear, and subwoofer RCA outputs to compatible external amplifiers. Use the rear RCA AUX input for a wired source, or pair a compatible Bluetooth device for wireless music playback.
