Hifonics TPS-MR1 Gauge-Mount Bluetooth Marine Receiver

The Hifonics TPS-MR1 is a compact AM/FM, Bluetooth-enabled source unit designed for marine and powersports audio systems where a conventional dashboard radio will not fit. Its gauge-mount format helps place music control in a small dash panel, console, or existing gauge location. It is suited to ATVs, UTVs, boats, carts, and similar 12-volt applications needing radio reception and wireless audio streaming.

Built-in four-channel amplification provides up to 25 watts RMS per channel at 4 ohms, allowing the TPS-MR1 to operate compatible speakers directly. Front and rear 2-volt RCA preamp outputs also support expansion with external amplifiers. This makes it practical for a simple four-speaker setup or as the source control for a larger amplified system.

Bluetooth connectivity lets a paired device stream music through the receiver, with a stated range of up to 32 feet. The unit also supports USB, iPod/Apple-device, AUX 1, and AUX 2 source modes. AM/FM reception remains available when streaming is not needed, with separate FM and AM preset banks.

A large, aquamarine-backlit 3.5-inch LCD and large-font display are designed for at-a-glance visibility. Large waterproof control buttons provide access to power, volume, source selection, playback, track navigation, and radio functions. Audio adjustments include bass, treble, balance, fader, loudness, EQ, and beep settings.

The TPS-MR1 fits a 3-inch mounting hole and requires 2.9 inches of mounting depth, helping it integrate into compact installation spaces. Its 4-ohm minimum speaker-load requirement should be observed when wiring the internal amplifier. For higher-output systems, its front and rear RCA outputs and blue remote-output lead simplify connection to compatible external amplifiers.

The TPS-MR1 uses a compact black gauge-mount layout with a shallow 2.9-inch mounting depth and a 5 x 4 x 1-inch bezel. Its large waterproof buttons are intended for exposed marine and powersports environments, while the published weather rating is IPX67 / ASTM117. The face layout combines display information, source control, audio settings, and playback functions in one small panel.

Install the receiver in a 3-inch mounting opening or use the supplied direct-mount screws where appropriate, keeping wiring clear of moving parts, sharp metal edges, and hot engine components. Connect 4-ohm speakers to the built-in amplifier, or use the front and rear RCA outputs with external amplifiers; the blue lead provides remote turn-on output. A radio antenna, switched accessory power, constant 12-volt power, ground, and the desired audio-source connections are required for a complete installation.
