JBL JAM5000N 2.8" Gauge-Mount Marine Receiver

The JBL JAM5000N is a compact gauge-mount marine audio receiver designed to bring source control, radio reception, and multi-zone audio capability to a boat or other marine installation. Its 2.8-inch color TFT display and physical controls provide a practical interface where a conventional in-dash receiver is not the right fit. It combines built-in amplification with RCA preouts for systems that may grow beyond the receiver's onboard power.

Bluetooth 5.0 enables wireless music streaming, while the USB 2.0 connection supports MP3, AAC on Apple devices, WAV, M4A, and FLAC files. The JAM5000N is Made for iPhone, iPad, and iPod, and its USB port provides 2.1-amp charging. It also includes AM, FM, and weather-band tuning with memory for 18 FM, 12 AM, and 7 weather-band presets.

Built for installed marine use, the JAM5000N carries an IP66 marine rating for its exposed operating panel. NMEA 2000 compatibility supports integration with compatible marine multifunction-display systems, while the rear-camera input adds a useful monitoring option. DAB playback is available only when a compatible DAB module is connected, making the receiver adaptable for installations that require that source.

Design & Installation

The JAM5000N uses a compact gauge-style form factor with a 2.8-inch color LCD display, a rotary volume/select control, and dedicated source and track controls. Its black-matte appearance is intended to integrate with marine helm layouts, while the exposed operating panel is IP66 rated. JBL specifies front- and rear-mounting options, allowing the installation method to suit the panel and available rear clearance.

Installation requires connection of the included accessory harness for power and speaker wiring, plus an antenna for radio reception. The three-zone RCA outputs can feed external amplifiers, with separate left, right, and subwoofer outputs for each zone; the subwoofer output uses an 80 Hz low-pass filter. A compatible DAB module, wired remote, rear camera, NMEA 2000 connection, and external amplifiers are optional system components and are not listed among the included accessories.
