With a 250-watt RMS power rating and 500-watt peak rating, this Punch P2 model is suited to compact bass upgrades that need controlled output without requiring a large woofer enclosure. The Kevlar-reinforced paper-pulp cone is paired with a tall-profile Santoprene surround for durable cone movement. Its 83 dB sensitivity and 43 Hz free-air resonance support use in purpose-built subwoofer systems.

The P2D4-8 uses dual 4-ohm voice coils, allowing one subwoofer to be wired for either a 2-ohm or 8-ohm final load. This makes amplifier selection and future system expansion more flexible, provided the amplifier is stable at the chosen impedance. Use an amplifier with power delivery appropriate for the subwoofer's 250-watt RMS thermal rating.

Rockford Fosgate equips this model with a high-temperature 2.25-inch voice coil, an aluminum former, and a Nomex reinforcement collar. Its vented motor structure, extended pole piece, bumped backplate, and spider venting are designed to help manage heat during operation. Dual linear spiders and stitched flexible leads support controlled movement and repeated use.

This subwoofer can be used in a compact sealed enclosure for a space-conscious installation or in a larger vented enclosure for lower extension. The recommended sealed volume is 0.23 cubic foot, while the recommended vented volume is 0.65 cubic foot tuned to 38.5 Hz. The P2D4-8 uses a Kevlar-reinforced paper-pulp cone, Santoprene surround, dual poly-cotton spiders, aluminum voice-coil former, and a protective PVC motor cover. Its compound-bend steel frame, cast aluminum trim ring, and all-metal radial compression terminal assembly support a durable installation. The trim ring can accommodate an optional grille insert, but a grille is not included.

Install the subwoofer in an enclosure that meets its volume, port, cutout, and depth requirements. Allow for the subwoofer's 0.071-cubic-foot displacement when planning net enclosure volume, and use wiring appropriate for the amplifier and final impedance. A sealed enclosure volume range of 0.20 to 0.30 cubic foot is specified; the recommended vented alignment uses a 0.65-cubic-foot enclosure with one 2-inch by 8.8-inch port.
