Rockford Fosgate MX-CAM-RNGR18 Polaris Ranger Camera Install Kit

The Rockford Fosgate MX-CAM-RNGR18 is a vehicle-specific installation kit for adding the separately sold MX-CAM motorsports backup camera to select 2018 and newer Polaris Ranger models. It provides the mounting hardware, wiring, and switch components needed to integrate the camera cleanly with the vehicle. This kit is intended for Ranger owners who want a factory-style camera installation without creating a custom mounting solution.

Rather than adding audio performance, the MX-CAM-RNGR18 improves system usability by helping provide a rear-view camera connection for compatible video-equipped source units. The included vehicle-specific T-harness connects at the Ranger's left taillight to supply camera power. A composite-video RCA connection carries the camera image to the display source unit.

The kit supports direct integration with Rockford Fosgate PMX-3 and PMX-8 source-unit systems through its included reverse-trigger connection. When used with a compatible setup, the trigger can activate the camera view when the Ranger is shifted into reverse. It can also be used with another source unit that has a composite-video input and reverse-trigger input.

Two camera mounting brackets are included to accommodate upper or lower factory-fit positions, depending on the Ranger model and equipment. The MX-CAM camera snaps into the selected bracket, while the bracket attaches at factory mounting points. This approach helps keep the installation tailored to the vehicle rather than relying on a universal bracket.

A prewired panel-mount rocker switch is included for convenient manual camera access. Its blue backlit rear-camera marking identifies the switch, while a red backlit camera icon indicates operating status. The MX-CAM-RNGR18 is a practical upgrade path for a compatible Rockford Fosgate Ranger audio/display system or another video-capable source unit.

Design & Installation

It includes dedicated upper and lower camera brackets, a main wire harness, a Ranger taillight T-harness, mounting hardware, and a panel-mount rocker switch. The bracket design allows the compatible MX-CAM to snap into place after the appropriate mounting location is selected.

Install the proper bracket for the Ranger configuration, connect the T-harness at the left taillight, and route the main harness between the camera and display source unit. Connect the male RCA video lead to a composite-video input; use the included trigger connection with compatible PMX-3 or PMX-8 systems, or with another source unit that accepts a reverse trigger. The MX-CAM camera is required and sold separately.
