Rockford Fosgate M2WL-8 8" White Wake Tower Speakers

The Rockford Fosgate M2WL-8 is a pair of white 8-inch, 2-way marine wake tower speakers housed in purpose-built wake cans. They are designed for boats that need elevated speaker placement and projection beyond what in-hull speakers can provide. The package combines full-range audio reproduction, integrated RGB lighting, and adjustable tower mounting hardware.

Each wake can uses an 8-inch speaker with a 1-inch integrated dome tweeter to cover bass, midrange, and high-frequency detail from a single enclosure. With 250 watts RMS and 1,000 watts peak power handling per speaker, the M2WL-8 is intended for use with a properly matched marine amplifier. Its 4-ohm nominal impedance makes it suitable for many multi-channel marine amplifier configurations.

Color Optix RGB illumination adds configurable lighting to the system without changing the speaker's primary audio role. The speakers connect to the Rockford Fosgate Color Optix controller and RF Connect App when the separately sold PMX-RGB controller is used. Rear RGB medallions can be rotated so the logos remain correctly oriented after installation.

The wake cans use an Element Ready design for exposure to marine conditions, with protection intended for UV, water, corrosion, and dust. White sport grilles and stainless-steel grilles are included, allowing the appearance to be matched to the boat. The high-density polyethylene enclosures and stainless mounting hardware support use on wake towers in freshwater or saltwater environments.

Installation can be completed with a direct-mount arrangement or the included universal clamps. The clamp system accepts wake tower bars from 1.5 to 3 inches in diameter and allows 360-degree adjustment before the can is locked into position. For a complete lighting setup, plan for speaker wiring, RGB wiring, a fused 9-16V lighting supply, and a compatible Color Optix controller if app-based lighting control is desired.

Design & Installation

The M2WL-8 uses white wake cans with high-density sealed polyethylene enclosures, mineral-filled polypropylene woofers, thermoplastic-elastomer surrounds, and integrated dome tweeters. Stainless-steel grilles are installed from the factory, while white sport grilles are supplied for an alternate look. The speakers include RGB rear medallions that can be rotated after mounting to align the logo.

Use the included universal clamps and appropriate rubber inserts for tower tubing from 1.5 to 3 inches in diameter, or use a direct-mount method where suitable. Run wiring before final mounting, observe the red positive and black negative speaker leads, and provide a 1-amp fused supply for the LED circuit. Check clearance through the full swivel range, aim the cans as needed, then secure the rotation lock-down hardware.
