The Rockford Fosgate M2D4-10I-G2 is a 10-inch marine subwoofer designed for infinite-baffle installations where a conventional subwoofer enclosure is not practical. It mounts into a properly isolated baffle to separate the front and rear sound waves. This makes it suited to boats and other marine builds with available panel space but limited room for a dedicated bass enclosure.

Built for marine-audio systems, this white Gen-2 M2 subwoofer combines low-frequency output with weather-oriented construction and integrated RGB lighting capability. Its 400-watt RMS power rating supports use with a properly matched marine amplifier. The 32 Hz to 250 Hz frequency response is intended to cover the bass range in an appropriately configured system.

The M2D4-10I-G2 uses dual 4-ohm voice coils and a built-in VersaSwitch for simplified impedance selection. The switch allows the subwoofer to be configured for a 2-ohm or 8-ohm nominal load without adding series or parallel jumper wiring. This gives installers flexibility when matching the subwoofer to amplifier capability and multi-speaker system plans.

A mineral-filled polypropylene cone, NCDI surround, aramid-polyester composite spider, and vented motor design support its marine-focused construction. The motor vent uses a water-repelling nano-coated mesh screen, while the frame uses glass-filled PA66 material with UV inhibitors. IPX6 water-intrusion rating and corrosion-focused design details help it fit exposed marine installations.

Color Optix RGB LED lighting lets this subwoofer become part of a coordinated illuminated marine-audio system. Lighting control requires a compatible Rockford Fosgate Color Optix controller, sold separately. The two-piece grille arrangement supports the included stainless-steel grille and optional color-matched sport grille customization.

The M2D4-10I-G2 uses a white marine-style presentation with a stainless-steel grille, mineral-filled polypropylene cone, and a high-temperature PA66 frame reinforced with 30% glass fill. Its FlexFit basket uses slotted mounting locations for adjustment during installation. Marine-grade connection hardware and a vented motor with protective mesh support use in environments exposed to water, salt, and sunlight.

This model is intended for infinite-baffle mounting and needs a baffle that adequately isolates the front and rear wavelengths. Plan for an 8.98-inch cutout and 4.70-inch mounting depth, then select the 2-ohm or 8-ohm VersaSwitch setting compatible with the amplifier. A Color Optix controller is required for RGB lighting control, and the controller, extension cables, and optional sport grille are sold separately.
