For a complete audio upgrade, the M1D2-10B can be installed in a suitable sealed, vented, or infinite-baffle arrangement as appropriate for the application. Its 4.23-inch mounting depth and 8.90-inch cutout diameter should be verified before installation. Rockford Fosgate recommends an active 80-100 Hz low-pass crossover at 12 dB per octave for subwoofer operation.

Design & Installation

The M1D2-10B combines a black UV-stable ASA plastic frame and grille with a mineral-filled polypropylene cone, Santoprene surround, synthetic-fiber-blend spider, and zinc nickel-plated marine-grade brass terminals. A vented motor and water-repelling nano-coated mesh screen support its Element Ready, IP67-rated construction. The fixed Sport grille is included with the subwoofer.

Plan for an 8.90-inch mounting cutout and 4.23 inches of mounting depth. The included Color Optix harness supports lighting hookup, while a PMX-RGB controller is required for RF Connect app control and is sold separately. For hard-wired lighting, Rockford Fosgate specifies a 9-16V supply, a 1-amp fuse, and at least 20-gauge wire; do not connect the lights directly to 12V.
