Mogami builds the Platinum series around a low-capacitance cable design intended to preserve the character of an instrument signal. The cable uses an oxygen-free copper core, cellular polyethylene insulation, and a stated nominal capacitance of 74 pF per meter. A high-density, 100% coverage copper spiral shield surrounds the signal conductor to help protect the unbalanced signal path. The PLATINUM GUITAR-12R combines an oxygen-free copper core with precision cellular polyethylene insulation, a copper spiral shield, and a conductive PVC jacket. Its G&H copper-core plugs use gold contacts, with one straight connector and one 90-degree connector. The cable is an unbalanced, single-conductor instrument lead rather than a balanced audio, speaker, or microphone cable.

Connect either plug to a compatible 1/4-inch TS instrument output, pedal input or output, amplifier input, or other unbalanced instrument-level connection. Use the right-angle end where reduced plug projection is helpful, such as a side-mounted instrument jack or tightly spaced pedalboard connection. Do not use this instrument cable between an amplifier head and a passive speaker cabinet; that application requires a speaker cable.
