Mogami GOLD SPEAKER-06 6' TS Speaker Cable

The Mogami GOLD SPEAKER-06 is a 6-foot speaker cable made to connect an amplifier or amp head to a passive speaker cabinet with 1/4-inch TS speaker jacks. It provides a purpose-built alternative to using a standard instrument cable for an amp-to-cabinet connection. Both ends use straight 1/4-inch TS male plugs for a direct, simple hookup.

This cable is intended for musicians, studios, rehearsal spaces, and live-performance rigs that use amplifiers and passive cabinets with 1/4-inch speaker connections. Its 6-foot length is suited to short amp-head-to-cabinet runs. Mogami builds the GOLD SPEAKER-06 with W3082 coaxial speaker cable and approximately 14 AWG conductors. The cable uses oxygen-free copper conductors and a coaxial construction with a served shield conductor. This construction is designed for speaker-level signal transfer between an amplifier and a passive cabinet.

The W3082 cable has a flexible black PVC jacket, while the Gold Speaker assembly uses gold-plated connector contacts and copper-core 1/4-inch plugs. Its shielded construction helps limit noise transfer into or out of the cable. Carbon-impregnated PVC is used to reduce handling noise.

Use the GOLD SPEAKER-06 as the final connection from a compatible amplifier speaker output to a passive speaker cabinet. It is not a replacement for an instrument or patch cable between a guitar, pedal, mixer, or line-level device. The cable is supplied as a single 6-foot TS-to-TS speaker cable and is covered by Mogami's limited lifetime warranty for the original purchaser.

Design & Installation

The GOLD SPEAKER-06 uses black flexible PVC-jacketed W3082 cable with a coaxial layout. Its inner and served shield conductors are each specified at 2.03 mm², and the cable has an approximately 6.5 mm outside diameter. The straight plug format keeps the connection conventional and easy to identify in amplifier-and-cabinet setups.

Connect one TS plug to the amplifier's speaker output and the other to the passive cabinet's compatible 1/4-inch speaker input with the amplifier powered off. Use it only where a speaker cable is required, rather than as an instrument or line-level interconnect. Keep the 6-foot run free of sharp bends, crushing, and strain at the connector ends.
