The Memphis MM1224 is a 12-inch marine-grade subwoofer designed to add low-frequency output to boat, powersports, and outdoor audio systems. A UV-resistant polypropylene cone, rubber surround, and high-temperature ABS basket support use in marine-oriented environments. Gold-plated terminals provide corrosion-conscious speaker connections, while the included high-impact gray grille protects the front of the driver. The basket and grille are designed to complement exposed mounting locations.

For system building, the MM1224 can be used in a sealed or vented enclosure according to Memphis enclosure recommendations. A single sealed enclosure recommendation is 1.25 cubic feet, while a single vented recommendation is 2.4 cubic feet tuned to 37 Hz. Select an amplifier that is stable at the chosen 2-ohm or 4-ohm setting and matched appropriately to the subwoofer's RMS rating.

Design & Installation

The MM1224 uses a translucent UV-resistant polypropylene cone with a rubber surround, a 48-ounce magnet, and a 2-inch voice coil. Its high-temperature ABS basket is corrosion resistant, and the included gunmetal-gray grille is made from UV-resistant, high-impact plastic. Optional black and white grilles are available separately.

Allow for a 4.95-inch mounting depth and an 11.2-inch cutout diameter when planning the installation. Wire the subwoofer according to the selected 2-ohm or 4-ohm configuration, then pair it with a compatible amplifier and enclosure.
