Cerwin-Vega CER-VPAS12 12" Powered Subwoofer

The Cerwin-Vega CER-VPAS12 is a compact 12-inch powered subwoofer designed to add low-frequency output to a vehicle audio system without requiring a separate external amplifier enclosure. Its integrated amplifier, subwoofer, and passive radiator are housed together for a simplified bass upgrade. It is suited to vehicles where available installation space is limited.

This all-in-one design can be used with factory radios as well as aftermarket head units. It accepts low-level RCA signals when a source unit provides preamp outputs, while high-level speaker inputs support systems without RCA outputs. The high-level input can also use signal-sensing auto turn-on.

The CER-VPAS12 is rated at 250 watts RMS and 600 watts maximum power. Its 30 Hz to 150 Hz frequency-response range is intended to reinforce the bass region of a full vehicle audio system. An adjustable low-pass filter helps blend the subwoofer with the vehicle's main speakers.

A passive radiator works with the 12-inch, 4-ohm subwoofer in the compact enclosure. The enclosure is constructed from cast aluminum, which also serves as a heat-dissipating structure for the integrated amplifier. Adjustable bass boost, phase selection, and input gain give the installer useful setup controls.

The low-profile enclosure measures 13.5 inches wide, 11.25 inches long, and 3 inches high. This size supports placement under a seat when clearance permits, as well as trunk or other securely mounted locations. A wired bass-level control is included for convenient level adjustment after installation.

Design & Installation

The CER-VPAS12 uses a slim cast-aluminum enclosure with an integrated amplifier and 12-inch, 4-ohm subwoofer. Its controls include gain, bass boost, low-pass filtering, phase selection, and status indicators for power and protection. The enclosure's 3-inch height is intended for installations where vertical clearance is restricted.

Use RCA low-level inputs when the head unit has RCA outputs; use the supplied high-level input cable and wire harness only when the head unit lacks RCA outputs. Do not connect high-level and low-level inputs at the same time. Cerwin-Vega recommends 8-gauge power and ground wiring, a ground connection shorter than 18 inches, and secure mounting with the supplied brackets and hardware.
