The Zoom G3n is a floor-based multi-effects processor for electric guitar players who want a compact way to build, save, and recall complete guitar sounds. It combines effect processing, amp and cabinet modeling, a looper, rhythm patterns, and a tuner in one pedalboard-style unit. It is designed for practice, recording, direct performance setups, and use with guitar amplifiers.
Its sound design centers on a flexible signal-chain approach, allowing effects and amp/cabinet models to be arranged in the order that suits a player's tone. Up to seven processing blocks can be used simultaneously, subject to the unit's available processing resources. The G3n supports classic effect categories including dynamics, overdrive, distortion, modulation, delay, reverb, EQ, and more.
With version 2.0 effects installed, the G3n lists 159 effect types: 127 DSP effects, 16 amp emulators, and 16 cabinet emulators. It provides 150 patch locations for storing complete setups, while 75 factory patches provide starting points for different guitar sounds. Three independent LCDs show the active effect chain and support hands-on editing from the pedal itself.
The integrated stereo/mono looper records phrases up to 80 seconds long and can be used with the built-in rhythm section. Its 68 rhythm patterns provide a useful backing source for timing practice, songwriting, and solo performance. A dedicated chromatic tuner supports standard, open, and drop tunings, with calibration adjustable from 435 to 445 Hz.
The G3n fits easily into a guitar rig through its standard instrument input, stereo auxiliary input, dual line outputs, and headphone-capable L/Mono output. It can feed a guitar amp, PA system, recording setup, or headphones for private practice. USB connectivity supports Guitar Lab for managing compatible effects, patches, backups, and firmware updates.

Design & Installation
The G3n uses a compact floor-pedal layout with three 128 x 32 dot-matrix LCD displays, three stompbox switches, onboard controls, and rear-panel audio connections. Zoom does not specify chassis materials in its published specifications. The three-display arrangement is designed to show multiple effects in a chain at the same time for direct editing.
Connect a guitar to the 1/4-inch INPUT jack and use the L/Mono/PHONES output for mono operation or headphones; add the R output for stereo operation. The AUX IN accepts a stereo 3.5 mm source for practicing with music, while the optional Zoom FP02M expression pedal connects through the dedicated control input. Power the unit with the included Zoom AD-16 9V DC, center-negative adapter rated at 500 mA.
