Zoom G2X FOUR Guitar Multi-Effects Processor With Expression Pedal

The Zoom G2X FOUR is a guitar multi-effects processor designed to place amp modeling, effects processing, looping, rhythm playback, and tuning in one pedalboard-friendly unit. It helps guitarists reduce the number of separate pedals needed for practice, writing, recording, and live setups. The integrated expression pedal adds hands-free control for compatible volume, wah, pitch, and other pedal effects.

It is suited to players who want to build and recall complete guitar sounds without assembling a large analog pedal chain. The processor includes 79 built-in effects and 22 amp/cabinet models, covering core gain, modulation, delay, reverb, dynamics, filtering, and utility-style processing. Up to six effects plus one pedal effect can be used simultaneously in a patch.

The amp and cabinet models use Zoom Multi-Layer IR technology to reproduce changing tonal characteristics at different playing dynamics. This gives the G2X FOUR a practical option for sending modeled tones to headphones, powered monitors, a PA system, or a guitar amplifier. Output mode selection supports use with either line-level systems or guitar amps.

For practice and songwriting, the G2X FOUR includes an 80-second mono looper and 68 onboard rhythm patterns. The looper can synchronize with the rhythm section, allowing players to build parts and rehearse ideas without external backing tracks. A built-in tuner and master EQ further support everyday setup and performance needs.

With 250 preloaded patches and space for 300 user patch memories, the G2X FOUR can serve as a compact standalone rig or as part of a larger pedalboard. USB-C connectivity supports use as a 2-in/2-out USB audio interface and works with Zoom Handy Guitar Lab for patch and effect management. Its stereo outputs, headphone output, AUX IN, and guitar input provide useful connections for home, rehearsal, and recording workflows.

Design & Installation

The G2X FOUR uses a compact pedal-format design with an integrated expression pedal, LCD screen, footswitches, directional controls, and four rotary encoders. Zoom does not publish enclosure-material specifications, but the layout is designed for foot operation and quick patch or effect navigation. The 256 × 128 dot-matrix LCD provides visual access to patch names, effects, and parameter settings.

Connect a guitar to the INPUT jack, then connect the LEFT/RIGHT outputs to a guitar amp, powered monitors, or a PA-compatible setup. Headphones connect through the stereo mini-jack PHONES output, while an external music source can connect through AUX IN for practice. Power the unit with a compatible 9V DC, 500mA, center-negative adapter such as the Zoom AD-16, or use supported USB bus power through its USB-C port.
