The sE Electronics X1 S Studio Bundle is a complete recording package centered on the X1 S large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone. It is designed for creators who need a practical vocal, instrument, podcast, or voice-over setup without assembling each accessory separately. The included RF-X Reflexion Filter, shock mount, metal pop filter, and XLR cable help address common recording challenges such as room reflections, vibration, and vocal plosives.

At the center of the bundle, the X1 S uses a hand-crafted 1-inch true-condenser capsule and cardioid pickup pattern. Its 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, 30 mV/Pa sensitivity, and 9 dB(A) equivalent noise level support detailed capture of vocals and acoustic instruments. The cardioid response focuses on the source in front of the microphone while reducing pickup from the rear.

The X1 S is built to accommodate both subtle and high-output sources. Switchable -10 dB and -20 dB attenuation pads expand its usable range for close-miked amps, drums, and strong vocal performances. With the -20 dB pad selected, the microphone is rated to handle up to 160 dB SPL at 0.5% THD.

Two switchable low-cut filters, set at 80 Hz and 160 Hz, provide source-side control over rumble, footfall noise, and excessive proximity-effect bass. This makes the microphone easier to adapt to close vocal work, spoken-word recording, and instrument tracking. The all-metal body and gold-plated 3-pin XLR connector provide a durable wired signal path for studio use.

The RF-X Reflexion Filter adds portable acoustic control behind and around the microphone. Its four-layer construction uses a vented composite panel, wool fabric, an air gap, and acoustic foam to reduce unwanted room reflections. Together with the Isolation Pack and included 3-meter XLR cable, the bundle provides a useful front end for an audio interface, microphone preamp, or mixer that supplies 48V phantom power.

Design & Installation

The X1 S has an all-metal housing, a hand-crafted condenser capsule, and a gold-plated 3-pin male XLR connector. The included Isolation Pack uses a quick-release shock mount and removable, vertically adjustable metal pop filter. The RF-X is a hand-assembled, four-layer portable acoustic filter with a vented composite outer panel.

Connect the included 3-meter XLR cable between the microphone and an audio interface, mixer, or microphone preamp that provides 48V phantom power. Mount the microphone in the supplied clip or Isolation Pack on a compatible mic stand, then position the RF-X behind the microphone for voice or instrument recording in an untreated room. Use the pads for high-output sources and select the low-cut filter as needed to reduce low-frequency buildup.
