Rockford Fosgate T1S1-10P 10" 1-Ohm Slim Subwoofer

The Rockford Fosgate T1S1-10P is a shallow-mount 10-inch car subwoofer designed for systems where mounting depth is limited but a dedicated low-frequency driver is still needed. Its 3.01-inch mounting depth helps it fit compact custom enclosures and space-conscious vehicle installations. This is the 1-ohm, single-voice-coil ported-enclosure version of the Power T1 Slim series.

Rated for 500 watts RMS and 1,000 watts maximum power, the T1S1-10P is intended for an amplifier that is stable at a 1-ohm load and appropriately matched to its continuous power rating. Its specified frequency response is 32-250 Hz, supporting the bass range typically handled by a subwoofer in a full car-audio system. The ported design is intended for installations that prioritize output and is also specified for open-air applications such as convertibles.

This Gen-2 T1 Slim design combines a shallow profile with a 2.5-inch pure-copper voice coil and composite former. The voice-coil assembly is engineered to manage heat while helping reduce distortion under sustained use. An IDHS inductive damping heat sink is integrated into the motor design to address heat dissipation, back EMF, and system efficiency.

The woofer uses a Linear Carbon Fiber/PMI/Glass Fiber cone with an aluminum dustcap, paired with a supercritical synthetic organic polymer surround. Its dual Nomex progressive spiders and fatigue-resistant braided flat tinsel leads support controlled cone movement. A high-energy neodymium motor, die-cast aluminum frame, and integrated heat-sink fins complete the structural design.

For a complete system, install the T1S1-10P in a properly built ported enclosure and pair it with compatible 1-ohm-stable amplification. Rockford Fosgate specifies a vented enclosure range of 1.0 to 1.50 cubic feet and does not recommend a sealed box for this model. An active low-pass crossover and an infrasonic filter are recommended for ported-enclosure operation.

Design & Installation

The T1S1-10P uses a composite cone, aluminum dustcap, polymer surround, dual Nomex progressive spiders, and a neodymium motor structure. Its die-cast aluminum frame includes integrated heat-sink fins, while the detachable die-cast aluminum trim ring provides a finished appearance. The speaker terminals use corrosion-resistant tin-plated, slot-loaded brass hardware sized for 10 AWG speaker wire.

Use a rigid, well-braced ported enclosure built to the required net internal volume after accounting for woofer and port displacement. The recommended optimum 10P enclosure has a 1.25-cubic-foot net volume, 40 Hz tuning, and a 4-inch by 13.75-inch port. Use an active 80-100 Hz low-pass crossover at 12 dB per octave, and set an infrasonic filter 5-10 Hz below enclosure tuning for vented use.
