Rockford Fosgate RNGR-REAR 6.5" Rear Speaker Kit

The Rockford Fosgate RNGR-REAR is an add-on rear speaker kit designed to expand compatible Polaris Ranger Gen-1 audio systems with rear sound coverage. It is intended for select 2015-2018 Ranger models already equipped with a compatible RNGR-STAGE2 or RNGR-STAGE3 system. The package combines enclosed 6.5-inch speakers, vehicle-specific mounting clamps, and a dedicated rear-speaker harness.

This kit is suited to Ranger owners who want to extend music playback to passengers in the rear seating area without piecing together universal components. Its included RM1652W-MB moto-can speakers provide a pair of full-range, two-way speaker assemblies in sealed enclosures. The design keeps the speakers externally mounted on the Ranger safety cage rather than requiring conventional in-cab speaker cutouts.

The included speakers use 6.5-inch polypropylene woofers and 1-inch aluminum dome tweeters to cover bass, midrange, and high-frequency content from each enclosure. With 75 watts RMS handling per speaker and a 4-ohm nominal impedance, they are designed to integrate with the amplified system architecture used by the compatible Ranger stage kits. A 100 Hz high-pass filter is specified to maintain the stated power-handling capability.

Rockford Fosgate's Element Ready construction is intended for powersports use where dust, water, mud, and UV exposure are routine considerations. The speaker enclosures use high-density polyethylene with UV inhibitors, while the speakers are protected by stainless-steel grilles. The included black PM-CL3B clamps are made specifically for the Polaris Lock & Ride roll cage.

RNGR-REAR provides a defined upgrade path for a compatible Ranger audio build by adding the rear speaker portion used in the larger system configuration. The RFRNGR-RSW16 harness is made to connect the rear moto-cans into the applicable Ranger wiring system without cutting or splicing. Rockford Fosgate estimates installation at about one hour; an antenna is not included.

Design & Installation

The kit's RM1652W-MB speakers pair injection-molded polypropylene cones, thermoplastic elastomer surrounds, and bridge-mounted 1-inch aluminum dome tweeters in black polyethylene enclosures. UV inhibitors, stainless-steel grilles, sealed enclosures, and marine-grade cast-aluminum clamp hardware support its outdoor-oriented design. The supplied PM-CL3B clamps are sold as a pair and include a quick-release design and Allen wrench.

Mount the pair on the appropriate Polaris Lock & Ride roll-cage locations, checking clearance through the speakers' adjustment range before final tightening. Connect the RFRNGR-RSW16 rear-speaker add-on harness to the compatible Ranger system and preserve correct polarity during wiring. This kit is an add-on, not a standalone audio system, and is intended for compatible RNGR-STAGE2 or RNGR-STAGE3 installations.
