The Rockford Fosgate RM1652W-MB is a pair of compact 6.5-inch, two-way wake tower speakers housed in sealed enclosures. It is designed for marine and powersports installations where conventional in-cabin speakers are not practical. The enclosure format helps add full-range sound to wake towers, roll cages, and other external mounting locations.

Each enclosure contains a 6.5-inch woofer and a 1-inch bridge-mounted volcano dome tweeter. With 75 watts RMS power handling per speaker and a 4-ohm nominal impedance, the pair can be matched with a compatible two-channel amplifier or amplified source. Their 49 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response supports broad musical coverage for outdoor listening.

The RM1652W-MB uses a mineral-filled polypropylene woofer cone, a UV- and salt-fog-resistant Santoprene surround, and an integrated LCP tweeter. These materials are selected for use in exposed environments where sunlight, moisture, and vibration are common concerns. A high-density polyethylene enclosure with UV inhibitors further supports its marine-oriented construction.

Its sealed mini wake-can enclosure gives installers a self-contained speaker solution rather than requiring custom pods. The speaker can swivel after mounting, and the driver can be repositioned inside the enclosure in 90-degree increments. This makes it possible to direct sound toward passengers or riders while working within available clearance.

The RM1652W-MB is supplied as a stereo pair with installation hardware for flat-surface mounting. A separate PM-CL2B tower speaker clamp is required for tubular-bar installations. It is a practical fit for marine, UTV, and off-road systems that need weather-conscious external speakers and compatible amplification.

Design & Installation

These black speakers use high-density polyethylene sealed enclosures with UV inhibitors, integrated grilles, and a mineral-filled polypropylene woofer cone. The Santoprene surround is specified for UV and salt-fog resistance. Each enclosure includes a safety lanyard provision and a quick-disconnect speaker harness.

For flat mounting, use the supplied mounting couplers, bolts, nuts, grommets, harnesses, security Torx hardware, and safety lanyards. The manual calls for 5/16-inch mounting-bolt holes and a 7/16-inch wire-harness hole when routing wiring through the mounting surface. For tubular towers or roll cages, use the separately available PM-CL2B clamp and confirm bar diameter, clearance, wiring protection, and amplifier compatibility before installation.
