The Rockford Fosgate Punch PM100X1K is a pair of compact full-range mono amplifiers designed to add power to left and right speakers individually. Each PM100X1 uses the existing speaker-level output from a factory or aftermarket radio, helping simplify upgrades where running a conventional battery power cable is difficult. The kit is intended for vehicle, marine, and motorsports systems that need a compact amplification solution.

Each amplifier delivers 60 watts RMS to a 4-ohm speaker or 100 watts RMS to a 2-ohm speaker. This added power can help replacement speakers play with greater output and control than they would from many radio-powered systems. The pair arrangement supports a straightforward two-speaker left/right installation using one mono amplifier per channel.

Rockford Fosgate's BTL Powered FreeLoad technology harvests DC voltage and audio signal from standard head-unit speaker outputs. The amplifier stores available energy internally to provide dynamic output without normally requiring a separate positive battery lead. An optional B+ connection is included for installations with non-standard speaker outputs or insufficient available voltage.

A selectable 2-ohm or 4-ohm input setting helps match the amplifier to the output capability of the connected radio. The built-in high-pass Butterworth crossover offers 60 Hz, 80 Hz, and 100 Hz selections to reduce low-frequency demand on smaller speakers. High-level turn-on operation supports integration with speaker-level source outputs.

The PM100X1K is built for installations exposed to moisture, including boats, motorcycles, ATVs, and other mobile applications. Its compact chassis, pigtail wiring, extruded aluminum heat sink, and IPX6 water-intrusion rating support placement in confined locations. Design & Installation

Each PM100X1 uses an extruded aluminum heat sink with convection cooling and discrete surface-mount construction. A Power/Protect LED provides status indication, while thermal, short-circuit, and over-voltage protection help safeguard the amplifier. The compact enclosure uses a sealed switch cover that should remain installed to maintain resistance to water and dirt intrusion.

Install one amplifier for each speaker channel, connecting the input side to the source unit's speaker output and the output side to the corresponding speaker. Select the 2-ohm or 4-ohm input mode according to the source unit's speaker-output capability, and use the crossover selection appropriate for the connected speakers. Keep the chassis ground connection short, and use the supplied optional B+ wire only when the source output does not provide sufficient voltage for operation.
