Rockford Fosgate M2-TS 1" Marine Tweeter Kit

The Rockford Fosgate M2-TS is a pair of 1-inch add-on marine tweeters designed to extend high-frequency output in compatible audio systems. It is intended for boat, powersports, and other open-air installations where full-range speakers may benefit from added treble presence. The kit is designed to complement Rockford Fosgate M1 and M2 Color Optix full-range speakers.

With a 4-ohm nominal impedance, 200-watt RMS power handling, and 97 dB sensitivity rated at 2.83V/1m, the M2-TS is built for efficient high-frequency reproduction. Its aluminum diaphragm and neodymium motor structure support detailed upper-frequency playback. A marine-grade PEI rubber surround and high-temperature Kapton voice-coil former support demanding outdoor use.

A sealed external passive high-pass crossover is included with each tweeter. The crossover uses an 18 dB-per-octave slope to direct appropriate frequencies to the tweeters while helping protect them from lower-frequency content. Metalized polyester film capacitors are used in the crossover design.

The Element Ready construction addresses the conditions commonly found in marine and motorsports installations. The front and grille are rated IPX6, while the frame is rated IPX5. UV-stable ASA plastic, stainless-steel mesh protection, and gold-plated marine-grade brass terminals help support use around water spray, sunlight, and corrosive environments.

The M2-TS kit offers two mounting approaches to suit different installation layouts. Use the included rear-mount flush hardware for a compact, integrated appearance, or use the included white horn-loading mounting flanges for more focused projection. It is a practical upgrade for listeners who want to add dedicated high-frequency coverage without replacing their compatible full-range speakers.

Design & Installation

The M2-TS uses an aluminum diaphragm, marine-grade PEI rubber surround, high-temperature Kapton voice-coil former, and dual neodymium motor structure. Its UV-stable ASA frame and grille construction are paired with a stainless-steel mesh grille for added protection. The external crossover is fully sealed for marine-oriented installation environments.

For flush mounting, the installation requires a 1.75-inch mounting hole and uses the included clamp system. The optional horn-loading flange requires a 3-5/8-inch mounting hole and includes an O-ring. Connect each tweeter through its included external crossover, observe the white-positive and black-negative speaker-wire polarity, and confirm amplifier stability when wiring the tweeters with compatible M2 full-range speakers.
