Rockford Fosgate T1T-S 1" Component Tweeter Kit

The Rockford Fosgate T1T-S is a pair of 1-inch component tweeters made to add dedicated high-frequency reproduction to a vehicle audio system. It is suited to replacing worn factory tweeters or building a component system with separate woofer and tweeter placement. The included passive crossovers help protect the tweeters by directing appropriate high-frequency content to them.

Each T1T-S uses a treated fabric dome with an integral suspension and neodymium motor structure. This design is intended for smooth, detailed treble reproduction across its specified 3 kHz to 22 kHz frequency range. With 90 dB sensitivity, the kit can integrate with a range of compatible aftermarket amplification setups.

The included external high-pass crossover network operates at 3 kHz with an 18 dB-per-octave Butterworth slope. It provides selectable tweeter attenuation at 0 dB, -2 dB, or -4 dB to help balance output with the rest of the system. The crossover also provides on-axis and off-axis output options for adapting the tweeter setup to its mounting location.

Installation flexibility is a central part of the T1T-S kit. It includes flush-mount and surface-mount hardware, allowing installers to place the tweeters in panels, pillars, sail panels, or other suitable locations. The flush installation uses a standard 1-3/4-inch mounting opening and has a shallow mounting depth.

The T1T-S works well as the high-frequency section of a custom component speaker upgrade. Its 4-ohm nominal impedance and 75-watt RMS power rating should be matched with an appropriately configured amplifier or speaker channel. Dedicated crossover wiring and included connector leads simplify integration when used according to the installation instructions.

Design & Installation

The T1T-S combines a treated fabric dome, integral suspension, and neodymium motor structure in a compact tweeter assembly. Its Discreet Dual Clamp mounting arrangement secures the flush-mount hardware around the mounting opening, while the tweeter uses a snap-in fit and trim ring. The protective grille is integral to the tweeter design and is not removable.

For flush mounting, use a standard 1-3/4-inch hole saw opening and allow approximately 0.91 inch of mounting depth. Connect each tweeter through its supplied external high-pass crossover, observing polarity and using only one selected positive attenuation terminal. Surface hardware offers approximately 10-degree or 30-degree mounting angles where aiming toward the listening area is preferred.
