Audison AP1P 1.14" Tweeter Component with Crossover

The Audison AP1P is a 29 mm (1.14 in.) car-audio tweeter component designed to add focused high-frequency reproduction to a component speaker system. It is intended for factory-system upgrades and custom installations where fitment flexibility is important. The supplied APCX P 2T passive crossover provides the required high-pass filtering for the tweeter.

With an 8-ohm nominal impedance and 92 dB sensitivity, the AP1P is engineered for integration with compatible component-system amplification and crossover networks. Its published frequency response extends from 1.2 kHz to 25 kHz. A Tetolon fibre dome and 25 mm CCAW voice coil support detailed upper-frequency output with low moving mass.

Audison uses a double-Neodymium magnetic group in the AP1P motor assembly. This design is paired with a dome profile optimized through FEM simulations for broad off-axis dispersion. That makes the tweeter well suited to locations such as factory sail panels, dash positions, and A-pillars where listening angles can vary.

AIF, or Any Install Faceplate, gives the AP1P three faceplate options for different installation approaches. The OEM faceplate supports factory-style placement, while mesh and spoke grille options are intended for A-pillar applications. This flexibility helps an installer select a finish and protection level appropriate to the mounting location.

The included APCX P 2T crossover is a 12 dB/octave high-pass network with a 4 kHz crossover point. Its selectable tweeter-level setting offers 0 dB or +3 dB adjustment for system tuning. The AP1P is a practical match for a compatible midrange or woofer section in an Audison Prima-style two-way front-stage upgrade.

Design & Installation

The AP1P combines a Tetolon fibre dome, 25 mm CCAW voice coil, and double-Neodymium magnetic group in a compact tweeter assembly. Its faceplate system includes OEM, mesh-grille, and spoke-grille options, allowing the cosmetic finish and acoustic opening to be matched to the mounting position. Audison specifies a 22 x 2.5 mm Neodymium magnet size and a tweeter weight of 0.067 kg.

Use the AP1P with its supplied APCX P 2T passive crossover rather than connecting it directly to a full-range signal. The crossover is specified as a 4 kHz, 12 dB/octave high-pass design and provides 0 dB or +3 dB tweeter-level adjustment.
