Rockford Fosgate P1T-S Punch 1" Tweeter Kit

The Rockford Fosgate P1T-S is a pair of 1-inch car-audio tweeters designed to add focused high-frequency detail to an existing speaker system. It is suited to vehicles with dull, missing, or poorly positioned factory tweeters, as well as custom installations that need dedicated high-frequency drivers. The kit includes external passive crossovers to help route appropriate frequencies to the tweeters.

Each P1T-S uses a treated PEI dome diaphragm and a 4-ohm design. Its specified 3.5 kHz to 22 kHz frequency response targets the upper-frequency range where vocal articulation, cymbal detail, and spatial cues are heard. With 60 watts RMS power handling for the system, these tweeters are intended for properly matched aftermarket amplification or speaker-level systems used within their ratings.

The included crossover network uses a 3.5 kHz high-pass point with a 12 dB-per-octave Butterworth slope. This helps prevent excessive low-frequency energy from reaching the small tweeter diaphragms. Selectable 0 dB, -2 dB, and -4 dB tweeter-level settings allow the installer to reduce output when a vehicle's mounting position makes the high frequencies too prominent.

Rockford Fosgate's DDC Discreet Dual Clamp mounting system is designed to support clean integration in door panels, sail panels, dashboards, or custom pods. The P1T-S can be mounted flush or surface-mounted with an angled presentation option. This flexibility can help aim high-frequency output toward the listening area when factory locations are limited.

The P1T-S works well as an add-on high-frequency upgrade alongside compatible midrange or midbass speakers. It is a dedicated tweeter kit rather than a full component speaker set, so it does not include woofers. For a balanced system, use its supplied crossovers and pair it with speakers that can cover the frequencies below the tweeters' high-pass range.

Design & Installation

The P1T-S uses black 1-inch treated PEI dome tweeters with Rockford Fosgate's DDC mounting arrangement. The compact driver format is paired with separate crossover housings, allowing the crossover components to be positioned away from the visible tweeter location. The kit's specified net weight is 1.20 pounds.

For flush mounting, the specified cutout is 1.75 inches and the mounting depth is 0.91 inch. Use the included crossover between the audio source or amplifier output and each tweeter, following polarity and the crossover terminal markings. The supplied mounting hardware supports flush and surface mounting, including an angled surface-mount configuration, so placement can be chosen for vehicle fitment and listening direction.
