Audison AV1-1II 1.1" Tweeter Set

The Audison AV1-1II is a pair of 28 mm (1.1 in.) Voce II component tweeters designed to upgrade the high-frequency range of a car audio system. It is intended for systems that need clearer treble detail, more controlled upper-frequency output, and flexible mounting options. With a 4-ohm nominal impedance, the AV1-1II is suited to appropriately configured aftermarket speaker systems.

Its Hi-Res Audio certification and 1,000 to 40,000 Hz frequency-response specification support extended high-frequency playback. The larger 28 mm Tetolon soft dome is designed to provide smooth, natural treble character while maintaining useful off-axis response in vehicle cabins. This makes it a practical choice for dash, sail-panel, or A-pillar locations where listeners are not directly on-axis with the tweeters.

A 28 mm CCAW voice coil is wound on an aluminum former and paired with a neodymium magnetic motor. This combination is engineered for low moving mass, thermal stability, and controlled transient response. Audison specifies a 900 Hz resonant frequency and 91 dB sensitivity for the AV1-1II.

The AV1-1II uses Audison AIF (Any Install Faceplate) technology to support different mounting approaches. Included mounting hardware includes a watch-band mount, double-angle cup, flush-mounting ring, and metal mounting spring. Mesh and spoke grille options provide additional installation and appearance flexibility.

For an active DSP-based system, Audison recommends high-pass filtering the AV1-1II as low as 1,800 Hz with a 24 dB/octave Linkwitz-Riley slope when paired in a two-way system with a 6.5-inch woofer. When used with a smaller midrange such as the AV 3.0 II, Audison recommends a crossover point around 3,000 Hz. The tweeters can also be used as part of compatible Voce II passive or active component-system configurations.

Design & Installation

The AV1-1II combines a Tetolon-fibre dome and surround with a 28 mm CCAW voice coil, aluminum former, and neodymium magnet. It does not use ferrofluid. The supplied faceplates, mounting accessories, grille options, pre-wired P&P cable, and Audison logo badges support a tailored installation.

Use the included flush ring, watch-band mount, double-angle cup, or metal spring according to the available vehicle location and desired aiming. The tweeter provides standard terminals plus an OEM-grade two-pin connection, with a matching bare-wire pigtail included for connection by solder or mechanical crimp. Use an appropriate high-pass crossover; for active DSP systems, Audison recommends 1,800 Hz at 24 dB/octave in a two-way alignment with a 6.5-inch woofer.
