Rockford Fosgate HD14-SBSUB Dual 10" Saddlebag Subwoofer Kit

The Rockford Fosgate HD14-SBSUB is a dual 10-inch saddlebag subwoofer and amplifier kit made for select Harley-Davidson touring motorcycles. It adds dedicated low-frequency output to a compatible Rockford Fosgate Harley audio system while using the factory-style hard saddlebag locations. The kit includes two loaded subwoofer enclosures, a four-channel amplifier, and installation components.

This system is intended for riders who want more bass presence than fairing and bag-lid speakers alone can provide. Each saddlebag receives a sealed enclosure with a 10-inch M1D2-10B subwoofer, and the included amplifier powers each woofer with a bridged pair of channels. The design retains the ability to remove either enclosure when additional luggage space is needed.

The subwoofer system is specified for a 20 Hz to 750 Hz frequency response, giving it the range needed to reinforce bass and low-midbass content. Each woofer is rated for 300 watts RMS and uses dual 2-ohm voice coils wired to create a 4-ohm amplifier load. The M5-800X4 Class-AD amplifier supplies the system with dedicated amplification and adjustable crossover controls.

Sealed, rotomolded HDPE enclosures are shaped for the motorcycle's saddlebag environment and use weather-resistant two-pin speaker connections. The brake-side enclosure includes a recessed area for the amplifier, which mounts inside the bag toward the rear. The subwoofers fire through vertical vents toward the rear wheel area.

The HD14-SBSUB is an expansion kit, not a standalone replacement for the factory audio system. It is designed for compatible Rockford Fosgate Harley-Davidson plug-and-play stage systems using TM or M5 amplifiers in the fairing. For correct operation, its input harness must connect to radio-level outputs through the specified fairing-amplifier connection rather than to amplified speaker outputs.

Design & Installation

The HD14-SBSUB uses sealed rotomolded HDPE enclosures with black exterior finish, two-pin Deutsch/Amphenol speaker connectors, grilles, trim rings, and vehicle-specific mounting components. The M1D2-10B subwoofers use a 2-inch high-temperature Kapton voice-coil former, a mineral-filled polypropylene cone body, and a co-molded surround. The included M5-800X4 amplifier is IPX6 rated and uses Class-AD amplification.

Installation is intended for compatible 2014-2023 Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Road Glide, and select Electra Glide applications with OEM non-stretched bags. The kit includes saddlebag-specific cutting templates, a 45 mm hole saw, wiring harnesses, a Y-adapter, mounting hardware, and preparation accessories. Confirm the motorcycle has compatible bag lids and no OEM power-locking system, factory saddlebag amplifier, or factory saddlebag bulkhead wiring before installation; professional installation is recommended when the installer is unfamiliar with motorcycle electrical systems.
