The PreSonus Eris Pro Sub 10 is a powered 10-inch studio subwoofer designed to extend the low-frequency range of a stereo monitoring system. It is intended for serious home studios and professional music-production environments where hearing the bottom octave of a mix matters. Its front-firing layout and integrated amplification make it a self-contained solution for adding controlled low end to compatible full-range monitors.

This subwoofer is well suited to producers, engineers, content creators, and listeners building a 2.1 monitoring setup. The 10-inch glass-composite low-frequency driver is paired with a front bass-reflex port to reproduce bass from 20 Hz to 200 Hz. With 170 watts RMS of Class AB power and a specified peak output of 113 dB at 1 meter, it provides substantial headroom for nearfield and personal-studio applications.

System matching is a central part of the Eris Pro Sub 10 design. Its continuously variable lowpass filter covers 50 Hz to 130 Hz, allowing the upper subwoofer range to be adjusted to suit the connected monitors. A switchable 80 Hz highpass filter can remove deep-bass content from the main-monitor outputs, helping create a more defined handoff between the subwoofer and speakers.

The rear panel provides flexible connections for common studio equipment. Balanced XLR and 1/4-inch TRS inputs support professional interfaces, mixers, and monitor controllers, while unbalanced RCA inputs accommodate other line-level sources. Balanced XLR and TRS outputs feed a pair of main monitors, and the dedicated XLR Sub Out supports adding a second Eris Pro Sub 10.

Practical controls help tailor the subwoofer to the room and the rest of the system. Variable input gain, polarity inversion, and a ground-lift switch support level matching and troubleshooting during setup. An included footswitch bypasses the subwoofer, highpass filter, and Sub Out, allowing quick comparison of a mix with and without low-frequency extension.

Key Features

  • 10-Inch Glass-Composite Driver: Provides low-frequency reproduction with a lightweight, rigid cone.
  • 170W RMS Class AB Amplifier: Supplies built-in power without requiring an external amplifier.
  • 20 Hz To 200 Hz Response: Extends monitoring into the sub-bass range.
  • Variable Lowpass Filter: Adjusts the crossover point from 50 Hz to 130 Hz.
  • Switchable 80 Hz Highpass: Reduces deep-bass demands on connected main monitors.
  • Included Bypass Footswitch: Lets you compare playback with the subwoofer bypassed.

Design & Installation

The Eris Pro Sub 10 uses a vinyl-laminated medium-density fiberboard cabinet with a front-firing 10-inch driver and front bass-reflex port. Its driver uses a glass-composite cone, high-temperature voice coil, and damped rubber surround. The enclosure measures 15.75 inches high, 12.60 inches wide, and 15.98 inches deep, and weighs 37.04 pounds.

Connect line-level source outputs to the XLR, 1/4-inch TRS, or RCA inputs, then connect the XLR or TRS outputs to the left and right full-range monitors. When using the subwoofer's highpass-filtered monitor outputs, PreSonus recommends trying an 80 Hz lowpass setting to align the crossover. For best results, level-match the subwoofer to the monitors and experiment with placement, polarity, and crossover settings in the listening room.
