The Pioneer TS-A1601C is a 6.5-inch, 2-way component speaker system designed to replace factory door speakers with separate woofers and tweeters. This component system is suited to listeners who want more focused front-stage sound than a coaxial speaker layout can provide. The separate 20 mm tweeters can be positioned independently from the 6.5-inch woofers to better suit the vehicle's interior layout. Its 4-ohm nominal impedance supports use with compatible factory radios or aftermarket amplification.

The TS-A1601C is engineered for a broad stated frequency response of 33 Hz to 58 kHz and a 90 dB sensitivity rating. Its carbon- and mica-reinforced IMPP woofer cone is designed for responsive bass reproduction, while the PEI hard-dome tweeter handles upper-frequency detail. An integrated in-line crossover network separates the woofer and tweeter frequency ranges.

Pioneer's Open & Smooth sound concept is intended to support smooth response and wide sound dispersion in automotive installations, where speaker placement is often off-axis. This matters in doors and dashboards, where speakers may not point directly toward the listener. The component layout helps create a more deliberate installation than a conventional full-range replacement speaker.

Multi-fit woofer adapters are included to broaden mounting flexibility, and the kit also includes tweeter mounting provisions for surface, flush, and selected original-equipment locations. Design & Installation

The system uses 6.5-inch carbon- and mica-reinforced injection-molded polypropylene woofer cones with elastic-polymer surrounds. Its 20 mm polyetherimide hard-dome tweeters are separate from the woofers, allowing their location to be chosen according to the vehicle and installation goals. Speaker grilles are not included.

Verify the 144 mm cutout requirement and 59 mm woofer mounting depth before ordering, as vehicle fitment is not guaranteed by size alone. Use the supplied crossover network with the component speakers, and follow polarity and connection guidance in the installation manual. The included adapters and tweeter mounting hardware can help accommodate different door and factory tweeter locations, but professional installation may be useful where vehicle-specific brackets or wiring adapters are required.
