The Memphis Audio SRX250.1V is a single-channel car audio amplifier designed to add dedicated power for a subwoofer system. It delivers 250 watts RMS to a 2-ohm load or 150 watts RMS to a 4-ohm load. Its mono configuration makes it a focused choice for drivers building or upgrading the low-frequency section of their vehicle audio system.

This amplifier is intended for systems where factory-radio power or a small full-range amplifier cannot provide sufficient subwoofer output. High-level and low-level inputs support integration with a variety of source units and signal processors. A wired remote level control is included so the subwoofer level can be adjusted from the listening position.

The SRX250.1V provides tuning controls intended for subwoofer use, including a variable low-pass filter, variable subsonic filter, and selectable bass boost. The low-pass filter can be adjusted from 50 to 250 Hz with a 12 dB-per-octave slope. Its subsonic filter is adjustable from 15 to 50 Hz and also uses a 12 dB-per-octave slope.

A MOSFET power supply supports the amplifier's operation, while built-in protection circuitry addresses overload, short-circuit, thermal, and reverse-polarity conditions. The gain control adjusts input sensitivity rather than serving as a volume control. A selectable 45 Hz bass boost offers 0 dB, 6 dB, and 12 dB settings for users who want additional low-bass emphasis.

The Street Reference SRX250.1V fits naturally into an entry- to mid-level bass upgrade using a compatible 2-ohm or 4-ohm subwoofer load. Its compact 10.1-inch-wide chassis can be mounted in many vehicle locations with appropriate ventilation and secure fastening. Pair it with properly sized power wiring, a 30-amp fuse, and a subwoofer whose impedance and RMS handling are appropriate for the selected output rating.

Design & Installation

The SRX250.1V uses a textured aluminum heatsink chassis with an LED accent light strip. The amplifier also incorporates overload, short-circuit, thermal, and reverse-polarity protection circuitry.

Install the amplifier securely in a dry, ventilated location and use the recommended 8-gauge amplifier kit or equivalent correctly sized wiring. A 30-amp fuse is recommended, and power, ground, remote-turn-on, signal, and speaker wiring are required separately. Wire the connected subwoofer system to a final 2-ohm or 4-ohm load; the SRX250.1V is not rated for 1-ohm operation.
