The Mackie Onyx24 is a 24-channel premium analog mixer built for live sound, multitrack recording, streaming, and content-production setups. It combines hands-on analog mixing with a USB audio interface, onboard effects, Bluetooth streaming, and direct stereo SD-card recording. It is suited to bands, venues, houses of worship, production rooms, and creators who need to manage multiple sources from one console.
Its 18 Onyx microphone preamps provide up to 60 dB of gain for microphones and connected sources that require substantial preamp gain. The analog signal path is paired with a Perkins three-band EQ section for practical tonal adjustment during a performance or session. A selectable 100 Hz low-cut filter on microphone-input channels helps reduce unwanted low-frequency energy when appropriate.
For recording, the Onyx24 supports up to 24-bit/96 kHz multitrack USB recording to a Mac or PC. It can also record and play back a stereo mix directly from an SD card, providing an option for capturing events without a computer. Four assignable USB return channels provide two stereo return pairs for bringing computer audio back into the mixer.
The integrated digital effects processor includes reverb, delay, chorus, and additional effect types with adjustable parameters and dedicated FX EQ. Studio Command combines a full-color display, single-knob control, and transport buttons for navigating effect settings and SD-card functions. Up to six user FX presets can be stored for recall.
The Onyx24 fits naturally at the center of a powered-speaker PA, amplifier-and-speaker system, recording rig, or hybrid live-streaming setup. Balanced main outputs, monitor sends, control-room outputs, headphone monitoring, inserts, and footswitch control support flexible routing around external gear. Bluetooth audio can be sent to the main mix or aux sends, making it useful for playback and reference material.

Design & Installation
The Onyx24 uses a heavy steel chassis with sealed rotary controls, backlit Mute and Solo buttons, high-contrast controls, and QuickGrip side cheeks. Its full-color display and dedicated transport controls provide direct access to effects and SD-card operation. The mixer measures 25.2 inches wide, 14.0 inches deep, and 5.4 inches high.
Place the mixer on a stable, ventilated surface with access to its rear-panel connections and power switch. Connect microphones, instruments, and line-level sources to the appropriate channels, then route the main outputs to powered speakers or an amplifier's line-level inputs. A computer can connect through USB for multitrack recording, while an SD card can be used for stereo recording and playback; a footswitch may be connected for FX mute control, but the footswitch is not included.
