Kenwood KFC-1698RS 6.5" 2-Way Car Speakers

The Kenwood KFC-1698RS is a pair of 6-1/2-inch round, 2-way car speakers designed for replacing worn factory door or rear-deck speakers. They combine a polypropylene woofer and balanced-dome tweeter in a coaxial layout, helping simplify an audio-system refresh. With a 4-ohm impedance and 88 dB sensitivity, they are suited to compatible factory or aftermarket car-audio systems.

These speakers are rated for 100 watts RMS power under CTA-2031 and 350 watts peak input power. Their 76 Hz to 18 kHz frequency response covers much of the bass, midrange, and treble range used in everyday music listening. The 6-1/2-inch woofer supports a direct-replacement-style upgrade where the vehicle has suitable mounting space.

The woofer uses a black polypropylene cone with Kenwood's Diamond Array Pattern and a rubber surround. The low tweeter profile is also designed to assist fitment in many factory speaker locations.

The KFC-1698RS can be used as a practical step up from basic factory speakers in a compatible 6-1/2-inch location. Its 4-7/8-inch cutout requirement and 1-7/8-inch mounting depth should be checked against the vehicle before installation. The KFC-1698RS uses a 160 mm polypropylene woofer cone, rubber surround, steel basket, ferrite woofer magnet, and neodymium tweeter magnet. Its black-painted steel top plate and yoke are designed to release heat efficiently within the magnetic circuit. The optimized woofer damper shape incorporates stress-leveling points for durability and smoother response.

Confirm that the vehicle accepts a 4-7/8-inch circular cutout and provides at least 1-7/8 inches of mounting depth before purchase. The speaker's overall dimensions differ depending on whether the supplied grille is used, so check panel clearance as well as mounting depth. Use the included screws, speed nuts, speaker cords, and adhesive tape as appropriate, and match the speakers with a compatible 4-ohm audio system.
