JBL Stadium 62CF 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers

The JBL Stadium 62CF is a 6.5-inch, two-way component speaker system designed for vehicle owners who want to replace separate factory woofer and tweeter locations with a matched system. It includes dedicated woofers, separate tweeters, and external crossovers to divide frequencies between the drivers. This layout supports more flexible speaker placement than a coaxial speaker arrangement.

Its 3-ohm nominal impedance and 93 dB sensitivity at 2.83V are intended to make effective use of available amplifier power. The system is rated for 110 watts RMS and 330 watts peak power handling. JBL specifies a 45 Hz to 40 kHz frequency response for the complete system.

The 6.5-inch woofers use JBL's Plus One glass-fiber cone design, which extends the cone area toward the basket edge. Glass fiber provides a stiff, lightweight cone material for controlled midbass reproduction. The separate tweeters use an edge-driven aluminum dome design and are specified for high-frequency response up to 40 kHz.

External crossovers are included to direct the appropriate frequency range to each woofer and tweeter. Each crossover provides a selectable 0 dB or -3 dB tweeter output setting, allowing the upper-frequency level to be adjusted for the vehicle and tweeter mounting position. The slim crossover format is designed to simplify placement behind door panels, dashboards, or kick panels where space permits.

The Stadium 62CF can also serve as the foundation for a future three-way JBL Stadium system. Its crossovers include two-way and three-way selection capability for use with an optional compatible 2-inch or 3-inch Stadium midrange. Factory grilles may be reused where suitable, since speaker grilles are not included with this component set.

Design & Installation

The system combines 6.5-inch glass-fiber woofers with separate 3/4-inch edge-driven aluminum dome tweeters. Included plastic multi-hole adapter rings and foam gaskets can assist with mounting the woofers, while the tweeter hardware supports flush, surface, and starfish-style mounting approaches. The component set does not include protective speaker grilles.

Confirm the vehicle's available woofer opening, mounting depth, and panel clearance before installation. The woofer has a 130 mm mounting cutout diameter, 52.9 mm mounting depth, and 166.5 mm outer diameter; adapters may affect final fit. Route the supplied crossover wiring securely, keep the 3-ohm load in mind when matching an amplifier or radio, and select the tweeter level after listening from the driver's seat.
