The JBL Club 1000SSL is a compact loaded subwoofer enclosure designed to add low-frequency output where vehicle space is limited. It combines a single 10-inch shallow aluminum driver with an integrated passive radiator in a prebuilt enclosure. This makes it a practical option for drivers who want a finished bass solution rather than sourcing a separate subwoofer and box.

The enclosure uses a sealed, down-firing layout intended to deliver controlled bass response while keeping the cabinet profile low. Its specified frequency response is 35Hz to 400Hz at -6dB, supporting sub-bass and upper-bass reinforcement in a car audio system. With a 2-ohm nominal impedance, it is designed to connect to a compatible external amplifier.

The Club 1000SSL is rated to handle 350 watts RMS and 1,050 watts peak. Its 82.5dB sensitivity rating is measured at 1W/1m, and it uses a 2-inch voice coil. These specifications provide clear amplifier-matching reference points when planning a system upgrade.

JBL builds the enclosure from 3/4-inch MDF and covers it in black carpet for everyday vehicle use. The cabinet measures only 4-1/2 inches high, helping it fit in locations where a conventional subwoofer box may be impractical. A down-firing driver arrangement helps keep the woofer integrated into the enclosure design.

Removable feet allow the enclosure to be positioned in different orientations to suit available cargo-area space. The included removable JBL logo badge can be installed where desired, while the supplied steel plates and hardware support secure mounting. Use the Club 1000SSL as the bass section of an amplified car audio system with an amplifier that is appropriate for its 2-ohm load and power-handling rating.

Design & Installation

The Club 1000SSL uses 3/4-inch (18mm) MDF construction with a rugged black carpet covering. Its shallow cabinet measures 24-7/8 inches wide, 4-1/2 inches high, and 13-1/8 inches deep. The enclosure includes a down-firing subwoofer, passive radiator, removable feet, removable badge, and supplied mounting hardware.

Connect the enclosure's positive and negative terminals to an external amplifier while observing correct polarity. JBL specifies at least 4mm² (11 AWG) speaker wire for the enclosure connection, and the enclosure should be securely mounted where it will not obstruct cargo, folding seats, or the trunk lid. Confirm adequate clearance and avoid routing hardware or wiring near vehicle brake lines, fuel lines, or wiring harnesses.
