The JBL JBLSPKSD962CFAM is a 6" x 9" Stadium Series component speaker system designed for vehicle owners replacing factory speakers with a separate woofer, tweeter, and crossover arrangement. It provides a practical upgrade path for systems that need stronger output and more detailed high-frequency placement than a conventional full-range speaker. This no-grille version is intended for installations where the vehicle's factory grilles are retained.

Its two-way component layout separates bass and midrange duties from high-frequency reproduction, allowing the tweeters to be mounted where they best suit the vehicle interior. The 6" x 9" woofers use JBL Plus One glass-fiber cones and rubber surrounds for a rigid, durable moving assembly. With a 35Hz to 40kHz frequency response and 94dB sensitivity at 2.83V, the system is specified for broad-range car-audio playback.

The included 3/4" edge-driven aluminum dome tweeters are engineered for extended high-frequency response up to 40kHz. Their external crossovers include a selectable 0dB or -3dB tweeter-output setting, helping installers adjust treble balance for the tweeter location and cabin acoustics. This is useful when tweeters are mounted close to listeners or in reflective areas of the vehicle.

JBL rates the Stadium 962C platform at 145 watts RMS and 435 watts peak power handling per system, with a 3-ohm impedance. That combination makes it appropriate for a properly matched aftermarket amplifier or compatible speaker output stage. The included external crossovers manage signal distribution between the woofers and tweeters.

The system can also serve as the foundation for a future three-way Stadium installation. Its crossovers support two-way and three-way operation when paired with compatible optional JBL Stadium midrange speakers. Mounting accessories, spacers, foam gaskets, tweeter cups, and installation hardware are included, while grilles are not included with this SKU.

Design & Installation

The Stadium 962C design combines 6" x 9" Plus One glass-fiber woofers, hi-roll rubber surrounds, and separate 3/4" edge-driven aluminum dome tweeters. External crossovers provide dedicated woofer and tweeter connections and offer selectable tweeter-level adjustment. The package also includes multiple tweeter-mounting components for surface, flush, and starfish-style mounting approaches.

Confirm the vehicle's available speaker opening, panel clearance, and mounting depth before installation. The woofer top-mount depth is 3-3/16", and the cutout requirement is approximately 5.79" x 8.66"; spacers and foam gaskets are included for fitment assistance. Route the woofer and tweeter connections through the included crossovers, select the desired tweeter level, and retain or source grilles as needed because this SKU does not include them.
