JBL JBLMARSUBSD102GAM 10" Stadium Marine Subwoofer

The JBL JBLMARSUBSD102GAM is a 10-inch Stadium Marine woofer designed to add low-frequency output to boat and watercraft audio systems. It is intended for installations where open-water conditions, engine noise, and wind can make it difficult for music to sound full and balanced. With 300 watts RMS power handling, it is suited to a dedicated marine amplifier and subwoofer-capable system.

This marine woofer uses a Plus One polypropylene cone to provide increased effective cone area. The larger cone area helps move more air for stronger bass output while retaining the durable characteristics needed for marine use. Its 20Hz to 2kHz frequency response gives it the range to handle bass and lower midbass duties in an appropriate system.

Selectable Smart Impedance, or SSI, lets the installer select either a 2-ohm or 4-ohm load using the woofer's built-in switch. This provides flexibility when matching the woofer to an amplifier or planning a system with multiple subwoofers. Choose the impedance setting before connecting the amplifier and configure the amplifier for the selected load.

RGB perimeter illumination adds visible accent lighting around the woofer for nighttime use. The woofer can display seven colors without an external controller, while an optional compatible lighting controller can expand color customization. An integrated grille is included to help protect the front of the woofer in a marine installation.

Its one-piece polymer basket, rubber surround, UV-resistant grille, and marine-oriented construction are designed for exposure to sun, moisture, and salt-air conditions. The woofer is suited for infinite-baffle, sealed-enclosure, or ported-enclosure applications. It can be used as the bass foundation for a Stadium Marine speaker system or as an upgrade to an existing amplified marine audio setup.

Design & Installation

The JBLMARSUBSD102GAM combines a dark-gray polypropylene cone, rubber surround, one-piece polymer basket, and integrated grille. Its grille is UV resistant, and the marine speaker platform is designed for weather exposure with IPX3 protection overall and IPX5 protection from the front. JBL also specifies 300 hours of salt-spray testing for the Stadium Marine speaker line.

Verify a 9-9/16-inch cutout and at least 4-7/8 inches of mounting depth before installation. Use the included foam gasket, screws, and speed clips as appropriate for the mounting surface, connect the supplied LED cable for illumination, and use a compatible external amplifier. Set the SSI switch to 2 or 4 ohms before wiring the woofer, then match the amplifier's rated load and power output to the selected setting.
