JBL CLUB1000P 10" Ported Subwoofer Enclosure

The JBL CLUB1000P is a loaded, ported car subwoofer enclosure built around one 10-inch polypropylene driver. It provides a ready-made bass upgrade for vehicles where adding a separate enclosure and subwoofer is not preferred. The enclosure presents a 2-ohm nominal load and is designed for use with an external car audio amplifier.

This model is suited to listeners who want added low-frequency extension in a compact wedge-style enclosure. Its rated frequency response is 35Hz to 400Hz at -6dB, giving it a range intended for bass reinforcement rather than full-range playback. JBL rates the CLUB1000P at 350 watts RMS and 1,050 watts peak power handling.

The CLUB1000P uses JBL Slipstream Port Technology, a double-flared port design intended to reduce air turbulence inside the port. Reducing turbulence helps limit audible port noise during bass playback. This design supports the use of a compact ported enclosure while maintaining low-frequency output.

A wedge enclosure profile with rounded corners allows flexible placement in a trunk or cargo area. The angled cabinet shape can make it easier to position the enclosure around available vehicle space. A removable JBL logo badge lets the visible branding be oriented to suit the selected placement.

The enclosure uses 18mm MDF construction with a black carpet covering for an integrated automotive appearance. It connects directly to an amplifier's speaker outputs using the enclosure's positive and negative terminals. For a complete system, pair it with a properly configured amplifier and suitable power, ground, signal, and speaker wiring.

Design & Installation

The CLUB1000P enclosure is constructed from 11/16-inch (18mm) MDF and finished in black carpet. Its wedge-shaped cabinet measures 17-5/8 inches wide by 14-15/16 inches high, with shallow and deep depths of 10-7/16 and 13-5/8 inches. The installed driver uses a 2-inch voice coil and a polypropylene cone.

Mount the enclosure securely in a location that does not interfere with cargo, folding rear seats, or the trunk lid; a trunk or cargo-area corner is commonly suitable. Connect its positive and negative terminals to an amplifier while observing polarity, and use at least 11 AWG (4mm²) speaker wire. JBL recommends professional installation when the required tools or vehicle-specific installation experience are not available.
