AUDIO360 AD4C 4 Gauge Amplifier Wiring Kit $50.00

The JBL Club 102 is a 10-inch car audio subwoofer designed to add dedicated low-frequency output to an aftermarket vehicle sound system. It is a passive driver, so it requires a separate compatible subwoofer amplifier and enclosure. With 350 watts RMS power handling, it is suited to systems that need stronger bass without stepping up to a larger 12-inch driver.

This subwoofer is intended for listeners building a trunk, cargo-area, or custom enclosure installation. Its Selectable Smart Impedance (SSI™) switch lets the installer choose either a 2-ohm or 4-ohm nominal load to better match an amplifier. That flexibility can also be useful when planning future amplifier or subwoofer-system changes.

The Club 102 uses a polypropylene driver with a 2-inch voice coil, high-roll rubber surround, and double-stack magnet design. Its vented basket is designed to promote airflow around the voice coil during operation. The result is a subwoofer engineered for controlled bass reproduction and sustained use within its rated power range.

JBL rates the Club 102 for a 35Hz–500Hz frequency response at -6dB and 83dB sensitivity at 1W/1m. A sealed enclosure can support a compact, controlled installation, while a properly designed vented enclosure can emphasize output in the upper-bass region. Enclosure selection, amplifier setup, and crossover settings will strongly affect final in-vehicle performance.

The Club 102 installs from the outside of its enclosure and uses a 9-inch cutout with a 5-1/8-inch mounting depth. An EVA foam gasket is included to help create an airtight seal between the frame and enclosure. It is a practical choice for custom systems where enclosure space, amplifier impedance, and clean installation appearance all matter.

Key Features

  • SSI™ Impedance Switch: Select 2-ohm or 4-ohm operation to match a compatible amplifier.
  • 350W RMS Handling: Supports substantial continuous power in a properly configured system.
  • 10-Inch Polypropylene Driver: Provides dedicated bass output for car audio installations.
  • Double-Stack Magnet: Supports the driver’s power-handling and excursion-focused design.
  • Vented Steel Basket: Promotes airflow around the voice coil during operation.
  • High-Roll Rubber Surround: Supports cone travel while maintaining stable edge suspension.

Design & Installation

The Club 102 combines a polypropylene cone with a large inverted dust cap, high-roll rubber surround, steel basket, and vented basket construction. Its trim-ring design is intended to conceal mounting hardware for a cleaner finished appearance. The included EVA foam gasket helps seal the subwoofer frame against the enclosure mounting surface.

Use a compatible external amplifier rated to operate safely at the selected 2-ohm or 4-ohm setting, and turn the amplifier off before changing the SSI™ switch position. JBL specifies a 9-inch cutout and 5-1/8-inch mounting depth; confirm clearance behind the mounting surface before installation. The terminals accept bare or tinned speaker wire, with 14 AWG to 8 AWG wire recommended depending on run length.
