Hifonics HCM-3000.1D 3000W Mono Class-D Amplifier
$394.00
AUDIO360 AD0C 0 AWG Amplifier Wiring Kit
$78.00
The Hifonics Colossus Mini HCM-3000.1D is a compact mono amplifier designed for a dedicated bass channel or other mono audio applications. Its small chassis helps solve installation-space challenges in cars, UTVs, and motorcycles while retaining a full-range Class-D platform. It is intended for systems that need a separate amplifier stage without the footprint of a larger conventional amplifier.
This one-channel amplifier is rated at 750 watts at 4 ohms, 1,500 watts at 2 ohms, and 3,000 watts at 1 ohm. Variable electronic high-pass and low-pass crossovers allow the output range to be tailored to the connected drivers. A built-in bass control and adjustable bass boost provide additional low-frequency tuning options.
The HCM-3000.1D uses Ultra-Fi MOSFET output devices and a mass-loaded extruded aluminum heat sink. This construction is designed to manage heat without a cooling fan. Its air-core transformer and multilayer circuit-board construction support the amplifier's compact layout.
Nickel-plated RCA inputs provide the signal connection, while preamp outputs can support expansion within a larger audio system. The amplifier accepts a variable input voltage range of 0.2 to 5 volts. A delayed turn-on function is included to help reduce turn-on and turn-off noise with compatible source units.
For subwoofer systems, match the final speaker load to one of the amplifier's rated 1-, 2-, or 4-ohm output configurations. The included wired bass remote makes it possible to adjust bass level from the vehicle cabin. Protection circuitry monitors over-voltage, under-voltage, short-circuit, and thermal conditions during operation.
Key Features
- Mono Class-D Output: One-channel design provides a dedicated amplified channel for a subwoofer or other mono application.
- 1-Ohm Rated Power: Delivers up to 3,000 watts into a 1-ohm load according to the published rating.
- Variable Electronic Crossovers: Adjustable high-pass and low-pass filters help tailor the output to the connected speakers.
- Compact Aluminum Heat Sink: Mass-loaded extruded aluminum construction manages heat without fan cooling.
- Wired Bass Remote: Included remote allows convenient adjustment of bass level from the listening position.
- Triple Protection Circuits: Over/under-voltage, short-circuit, and thermal protection help safeguard the amplifier and system.
Design & Installation
The Colossus Mini uses a black compact chassis with a mass-loaded extruded aluminum heat sink, fly-cut CNC-machined aluminum badging, and angled connection terminals. Its clean board construction combines multilayer PCBs with surface-mount components. Nickel-plated RCA jacks and high-temperature, impact-resistant terminal hardware are designed for secure connections.
Mount the amplifier on a secure surface with adequate ventilation and do not mount it upside down. The installation guide specifies 0 AWG power and ground connections, 12 AWG speaker wiring, and an external 300A fuse for this model. Set gain carefully to match the source unit rather than treating the level control as a volume control, and wire speakers only to a final impedance supported by the published ratings.

What speaker loads can the HCM-3000.1D drive?
Published output ratings are provided for 1-, 2-, and 4-ohm loads. It is rated at 3,000 watts at 1 ohm, 1,500 watts at 2 ohms, and 750 watts at 4 ohms.
Can this amplifier be used with a factory radio?
The confirmed signal connection is through RCA inputs, with an input sensitivity range of 0.2 to 5 volts. If a factory radio does not provide RCA outputs, an appropriate signal-conversion solution may be needed.
What wiring and fuse size does this amplifier require?
The Hifonics quick-start guide lists 0 AWG power/ground cable, 12 AWG speaker wire, and an external 300A fuse for the HCM-3000.1D. Use quality cable and install the fuse in the main power run.
Is a bass remote included?
Yes. A wired bass remote is included for adjusting bass level relative to the amplifier's end-panel setting. Its LED is specified to show green for power and red when the amplifier enters protection.
Does the HCM-3000.1D need a cooling fan?
No fan cooling is specified. The amplifier uses a mass-loaded extruded aluminum heat sink for thermal management, but it should still be mounted where it has adequate ventilation.
What warranty is included?
The published warranty is one year from the date of purchase for the original consumer purchaser. Warranty coverage is subject to proper installation and use under the manufacturer's terms.
