Hertz MLPOWER1 Mille Legend D-Class Mono Bass Amplifier

The Hertz MLPOWER1 is a Mille Legend Series mono Class-D amplifier designed to power a dedicated car-audio subwoofer channel. It delivers 1,000 watts RMS at 2 ohms or 1 ohm, with 600 watts RMS at 4 ohms. This makes it suitable for systems that need substantial low-frequency output from a single amplifier channel.

This amplifier is intended for installers and enthusiasts building a subwoofer stage around a compatible 1- to 4-ohm final load. Its mono layout keeps the output focused on bass reproduction instead of full-range speaker channels. The 18 to 500 Hz bandwidth and adjustable filtering support integration with front and rear speaker systems.

The MLPOWER1 uses Hertz ADC Advanced D-Class Technology for compact, efficient amplification. Its low-pass crossover is continuously adjustable from 50 to 500 Hz with a 24 dB-per-octave slope, while the subsonic high-pass filter is adjustable from 18 to 40 Hz. A continuously variable 0 to 180-degree phase control helps tailor subwoofer alignment within the vehicle.

Hertz equips the amplifier with a thermally optimized heat sink that combines extruded and die-cast aluminum construction. A removable top control panel provides access to setup adjustments. Four status LEDs monitor operating conditions, including thermal, overload, and speaker-related faults.

Integration options include RCA pre-level input for aftermarket sources and balanced speaker-level input for factory-radio upgrades. When speaker-level input is used, Hertz ART automatic remote turn-on/off can manage amplifier activation. A pre-out is also provided for passing signal to additional equipment, and the optional HRC BM remote can provide subwoofer-level adjustment.

Design & Installation

The MLPOWER1 uses a compact aluminum heat-sink structure combining extrusion and die-casting. Its control section is located on top beneath a removable panel, keeping tuning controls accessible after installation. The chassis measures 13.74 inches long, 6.69 inches wide, and 1.84 inches high at its maximum dimensions.

Plan the installation around a compatible 1- to 4-ohm final subwoofer load and the amplifier's three 40-amp fuses. Use the RCA Pre IN connection with an aftermarket source, or use the Speaker IN connection when retaining a compatible factory head unit. The package includes three 40-amp blade fuses and four mounting screws; the HRC BM bass-management remote is optional.
