The Hifonics Colossus PRO HAC-1500.1D is a mono Class D car audio amplifier designed to power a subwoofer system from a compact single-channel platform. It provides up to 1 x 1500 watts at 1 ohm, with lower-power options at 2 and 4 ohms. This makes it suitable for systems where the subwoofer wiring and amplifier output need to be matched carefully.

Built for bass-focused installations, the HAC-1500.1D offers adjustable crossover controls to help blend a subwoofer with the rest of a vehicle audio system. Its variable high-pass and low-pass filters allow installers to set the amplifier's operating range for the speakers being used. A variable bass boost control and included wired bass remote add convenient level adjustment.

The amplifier uses Hifonics Super D-Class, half-bridge amplifier architecture intended to provide efficient power delivery. Its full-range Class D chipset can support a range of driver applications, although its single mono channel is commonly used for subwoofer duty. The 1-ohm-stable design gives installers flexibility when wiring compatible subwoofer voice coils.

Signal and thermal management features support integration into a dedicated car audio build. The HAC-1500.1D has nickel-plated RCA inputs, a mono preamp output for passing signal to another amplifier, and an input sensitivity range of 0.2 to 8 volts. Variable-speed fan cooling and an extruded aluminum heat sink help manage operating temperature during use.

For system protection, this amplifier includes over/under-voltage, short-circuit, and thermal protection circuits. A delayed turn-on function is designed to reduce turn-on and turn-off noises when used with compatible source units. Mount the amplifier on a secure surface with airflow around it and do not install it upside down. Use 0 AWG power and ground cable, install the specified 125A external fuse within 18 inches of the battery, and connect a clean chassis ground near the amplifier. RCA signal cables, a remote turn-on lead, compatible subwoofer wiring, and professional gain/crossover setup are recommended for a complete installation.
